I bought one of these a few months ago and it’s amazing. It works with logic on my iPad too. Clean sounding, usable meters, low latency, midi in/out….its great.

These Motu M units are very good. Amazingly low latency for a USB device, bested only by RME, which costs so much more

When i compare the old videos about the MOTU M2 with the newer ones, where the MOTU M2 was already used for a couple of years, it comes clearly visible, that the display is a OLED display with burn-in effect.
@TechieViewVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi, interesting remark, i do not have any burn-in effect traces on my M2, i've got one on my desk for longer than a year, did a lot of works with it, so far so good, i guess i just have to wait... 😉 Thanks!
@OpenGL4ever Жыл бұрын
@@TechieViewVideo The burn-in effect is easily visible at 3:11 on the left level meter of your device. At the top, above the point where the bar doesn't light up, it should actually be completely black. But that's not the case, you can still see the bar as a burn-in effect. If it wasn't an OLED display, but a normal TFT display, you wouldn't see anything of these burn-in shadows.
@TechieViewVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi, no there is no such thing, it could seems like due to sharpening effect on video. There is no "burn in" effect on my M2. Its in front of me. Thanks!

@@TechieViewVideo Hm, that's strange. But why does it have the colors of the level bar?
@TechieViewVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi, It always had light traces of colors on the level bar, it was like that from the begining there is no changes. I just never really thought about that, for me it was just "given" also if you look at the product video from MOTU itself you can clearly see that there is traces of color on the level bars all the time. The other thing would be the position of the camera during filming, the angle is important, one can look from diffrent position and have different result. Thanks!

Im in the market for a new interface. Had a used focusrite that i purchased around 2015'ish that i absolutely loved but died on me last year due to lightning damage. And now i think the motu m2 will be what i buy today. Seen some complain about issuses with driver problems on windows but I'll take the chance to experience for myself. Only thing keeping me from going with the 4th gen 2i2 is i seen the headphone volume is not that great on the focusrite. Thanks for the vid

How has your motu m2 been performing on Windows so far? I just bought one and I'm nervous. I have a focusrite 2i2 3rd gen that I am replacing because I've had issues with it. I am looking forward to the lower latency, but I hope it's overall performance is stable since I'm also going to be using it as a playback device for general audio listening - in addition to recording / streaming guitar signal.

Hi, My M2 does just great, no problems with Windows drivers, not at all. Thanks!

@@dave494 Hey, unfortunately I went with another interface, the Universal Audio Volt 4. It too had the same type of claims of having troubles with windows but thankfully it has worked pretty well for me. Hopefully you guys are enjoying your M2 without any problems.

Thank you for this review. Do you know if this connects with an android to record video as an external mic?
@TechieViewVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi, i think its depends on a phone, some of the manufacturers ignored audio some others taking good care about it. It works with prograde apps on Android, that is for sure. Thanks!

Hi mates im a begginer, would it be ideal if I want to connect 2 monitor speakers in the back, the mic in the front left and a guitar on the front right as well? Would it work fine? It will only be used for light music recording and some live streaming here and there. Thank you best regards!
@TechieViewVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, absolutely! Stereo out 6.3mm 2 X balanced direct to the active monitors In (L, R), vocal (left / Mono), guitar (Right / Instrument In). In Your DAW choose channel 1 mono / Left / Vocal In to channel 1 and channel 2 mono / Right / Guitar / Instrument In to channel 2 / 2 mono tracks. Use effects and plugins to send in - out to the effect channel (Stereo), create 2 stereo effect track in DAW, mix it down (all 4 tracks) with effects - here you go! Thanks! :)

@@TechieViewVideo wow nice okay understood will do, so now that being said would it be fit for me to buy the MOTU M2 or M4? I really don't need all the extra inputs it will only be used for what I said
@TechieViewVideo Жыл бұрын
Hi, If you going to use only 2 inputs (mono mic + mono instrument) than M2 is way to go, it's easy to use and works flawlessly, in case if you planning to use two stereo pairs on input or want to record more instruments (ever) than it will be a good idea to take a better look at M4, it could be a nice investment for your creativity. Did you notice any odd stepping / digital noise when you increase/decrease the gain while sound is going through the input channel? I noticed some noise going into the signal path while doing this and I'm trying to figure out if that's 'normal' or if it's faulty.
@TechieViewVideo8 ай бұрын
Hi! No, I've never had any problems of that kind, I think it might be a problem of a wire connected otherwise you have to get in contact with the service. Thanks!
