I just started playing this game and it really is a game I’ve always wanted. A giant space battle with hundreds of players around you with crazy fights going on and you’re always a part of the action, it’s so crazy it’s free. Plus I love when there’s no respawn to a fight you just buy a cheap quad and run out amidst giant tanks and speeders lol

It always amazed me when you fly past the enemy and they seemingly just let you go without turning around or anything. I tried this style of gameplay for the first time today. Got killed a lot, but also had some of those awesome moments where I flew right past them and they had no idea what to do. It was great!

It reminds me of playing close range infiltrator with my armistice where you just run around a group of people killing them in a similar way. Instead of moving fast you get in stealth and run around. But it is sort of sad you dont get tools to kill max's.

After a multi-year break I've returned to play PS2 and while I was a HA main, now I'm trying to finish some directives for the black camo and tried these jets on a LA, and I'm having a total blast. Normal jetpacks are too slow for my taste, and combined with nonexistent survivability it was the main reason LA was previously my least favourite class in Planetisde 2. Now with the fast bursts of mobility the problem is fixed, I absolutely love this palystyle! Thank you for sharing!

This video explains why there is no other game out there that comes even close to what you can experience in Planetside 2. Damn, it also shows that nothing in real life can give you anything near that. Too bad I cannot play ps2 anymore, because I get addicted too much and lose interest in getting my life organized. I mainly use the skirmisher jump jet for the reasons you mentioned, but I noticed (as shown at 13:53) that jumping as you land lets you retain a big portion of your horizontal speed which is basically bunnyhopping like in Quake. And those sick midair flick shots while zipping past enemies is reminiscent of flick rails while strafejumping in Quake 3, so it's interesting that you brought up Quake and UT. I've always hated to be on the receiving end of players like you, but you make it look so fun so I'll be sure to try it out once I've unlocked ASP!

bunnyhopping doesnt really work well in p2, it's more of the fact that slopes have an extreme effect on character velocity in the game, which is the same thing that makes it almost impossible to climb rocks and hills without catlike as a non-LA class

Also, another useful tip: If you're traveling to another base or something and you wanna get there ASAP. Then jump normally like Space (to jump) + Space (to jump with ambushers) and when you press the Space to jump with the ambusher jets let the spacebar go and hold space when the ambusher is recharging and you'll get another smaller jump when it recharges + it will still be recharged so you can do it again and again. So it goes like this: (1)Space(to jump) + (Hold until ambusher recharge)Space(to jump with ambushers) = another smaller jump, but you'll still get closer to your destination. Repeat.

Uhm, sorry guys I explained it wrong so, you should jump use the ambusher and hold the spacebar whenever its recharging and dont let it go until it full recharges I edited it.

I mean, at mid range yeah, but a majority of the kills you'll get are going to hit due to your close range. That and you're probably getting the jump on people anyway. Underrated secondary for light assault is the hunter with explosive ammo , that crossbow deals nice damage and paired with 2 C4 and a load of rocket rifle and you can kill a sunderer without reloading , also I love avoidance it's a must in my opinion

I just wish ambusher jet would replenish as soon as you get a kill, not only when you hit the ground. So many times I've spammed spacebar only to realize I didnt get the boost after the kill XD

i like to run the Ambushers together with Smoke Grenades, Infravision and Sidewinder. i could replace sidewinder with save fall but the invisibility for IRNV scopes helps alot to not get countered by them.

on esamir, a squad of light assualts with lvl 1 ambusher jets are incredibly capable. one of my favorite times was leading a team of 5 in clearing hilltops around eisa tech.

I don't think "for no reason" It was a really powerful combo and with the ambusher advantage getting at least one kill is kinda easy. I think they have done right with that move. And no i am not a salty dude that got killed by this playstyle alot, i barely remember any moments of seeing an LA swoop to me and pump me down. Instead, i play it myself, and damn is it fun. At first i didn't like Ambushers at all, i was and still am a Drifter Fan. When i first used Pump-Shotguns i used Icarus Jumpjets which i also really like, cause i though traversing multiple levels in amd around buildings would be a great advantage and i would sprint to enemies with the increased sprint speed suit slot. However at some point i tried them out again and it really is nice if you can even attack enemies with PA Shotty that did notice me and not having to approach at weird angles to catch them out of the unaware. But having some type of Safe Fall built into them is really kinda needed. Every Jetpack has somewhat Safe Fall built into in that you can almost always slow down you fall with them, and thus you can use what 2 implants you want. What about *"When Ambusher Jumpjets are recharging fall damage starts at X metres and lethal fall damage at X metres"* (Maybe a Level 1 Safe Fall Effect would be enough?)

With that mechanic Ambushers would not make Safe Fall obsolete since you would pretty much only have the effect when you use the Ambushers.

that only works so well, if you get 2 heavy assaults in the same room with you it will take 4 shots to kill them and there is a good chance you wont make it past 3 shots

lol "shitgun, uh I mean shotgun..." I literally name my shotgun loadouts "shitgun"... Ambusher LA is definitely a favorite of mine (Shitgun Superhero). High risk, high skill, high rewards. You really can't give a crap about your K/D ratio when learning how to use it properly, and luckily I don't. One thing I would like to see, other than un-nerfing the C4 timer is making Safe Fall implant effect part of the Ambusher Jump Jets cert line because it's kind of crucial. Great vid man!

jump then hit ambuhers right when you come back down.. you will recieve minimal damage to shields, if any at all. you do have to be more careful, of course, but i go without safe fall quite often and use max lvl Covert Drop for a bit of fun. on a side note, Icarus jets are underrated AF.. if you haven't tried them, you should

That's an SMG and you can do it with the ASP system, when you reach battle rank 100 you can buy ASP for 10000 Certs, basically you restart your battlerank but at each 25 battleranks including 0 you'll get an ASP point that you can use at ESC -> Profile (last button to the left) -> ASP System and each class has a number of special abilities that you can buy with that ASP point for example the Light Assault you can have an SMG secondary but for example with the Heavy Assault you can have a heavy weapon secondary which is the Jackhammer and the Thumper

I can't say much but i first buyed the Uppercut since internet people told me it is better to have the tiny quicker refire time that the Uppercut has. Others have said it is better to have that little bit more damage that the blackjack has so you have a tiny bit more range than you would have with the Uppercut so you wouldn't need another follow up shot. Recently i have bought the Blackjack and (with only a little experience of playing the BJ) i would say it doesn't make much of a difference. The tiny faster refire time or the tiny more range don't really matter (at least imo) for 2 major reasons: - i usually find myself not shooting as fast as i can since i make sure that i aim instead of spamming the trigger and it seems to be more effective → faster fire rate/refire time doesn't matter - i usually get as close to the enemy as the situation allows me to, to make sure i only need one shot to kill the enemy → tiny more range doesn't matter Honestly i would suggest you to decide via fashion/style. The Uppercut has a very rough look and perhaps more badass. The Blackjack has a more stylish and sleek look and in contrast to the UC it also has a stock. *TLDR; I suggest picking the one that you think looks better.*
