Maybe a touch of chameleon mica powder in the resin figure would give it more visual effect, just an idea! Love this concept!

The hole in the card did help. I would try a smaller hole in the black card? It's still beautiful and fun! Definitely want to try something like this. Good to know you didn't use release spray.
@LouiseSingletonCreationsАй бұрын
Do you think so? That’s really useful to know, my original idea was to attach something permanently to the base so I might still do that ( and try with a smaller hole) 👍

I think your project came out beautifully. The milk bottle idea using as a mold opens up many possibilities. Thank you so much Louise

This is lovely. I think that JedRekt used interference powders in his to give it a ghostly look. Black Diamond makes an awesome interface powder. I have it in blue, green, purple, red, and gold. Your piece is very ethereal and you did inspire me!

The long pincer thing usually comes with long necked scissors for terrariums , so you can reach into a terrarium to put in little plants or trim plants I love this idea of the figure in the bottle, maybe it could have had glitter or something in it to show up more, thanks for sharing your ideas

That is such a lovely ornament, Louise! What a great idea to make a hologram from it...and it turned out so cool! *I* like it! 😘💕😍 Jedrek has some awesome artwork, doesn't he? He's amazing. Our milk doesn't come in bottles, sadly (that I've ever seen). Ugly, waxed cartons or big, even uglier, UNshiny plastic jugs. That tool looks like surgical clamps! I've got a pair...handy! Jewelers also use them for their work. Look for jeweler's tools. *Bet your degassing machine would have got rid of the bubbles if you just filled the mold ½ to ⅔ the way, then continued filling from there...
@LouiseSingletonCreationsАй бұрын
thank you ever so much. I agree, the ornament is gorgeous, my friend bought it for me. I don’t think the degassing would have worked, it was pockets of air trapped in there 😞 but never mind, I’m just thrilled about the milk bottle and I have a far prettier plan for the next one. in agreement about Jedrek, he’s awesome.

A few things: long tools like this forceps are sold for use in aquariums and terrariums. The long tweezers are great too. The bubbles could maybe be dislodged using a rubber tip dental pick or a dental explorer. Both tools are bent at good angles to get in there, and are cheap. Lastly, I like the idea of using ghost pigments or interference powders, if you can find a way to adhere them. Perhaps with a spray adhesive on the figure? Anyway, the project us lovely.❤

What a great idea Louise. I'm going to look for milk in this type of container here where I live. Most of the ones where I live are square and have a pattern in the plastic. Maybe I can find a juice bottle that's clear and smooth. Just love this so much! 💗💗💗

I wonder if a small amount of mica powder mixed with a transparent sealer or pearl paint or ? brushed onto the resin figurine before her inclusion would have an effect...

That was a cool tutorial. I love the little willow figurines, I have some too. I wonder since of course the clear on clear was going to end up invisible, I wonder if you used iridescent flakes or glitter in the figurine resin, how it would show up then. 😃
@G.G.8GGАй бұрын
Lovely idea! I was wondering if you could coat the figure with a very fine film of something to make it more visible but still the same basic effect.

Lou what about maybe gluing a sewing pin onto the top of a paint brush and bending the pin up to pop the trapped bubbles under the flowers
@LouiseSingletonCreationsАй бұрын
now why didn’t I think of that! I have one of those dental hook things ( very useful for getting hair out of the plug hole 🤣) that would have done it!

There is a different type of resin you can use, it's like a jelly substance. You could use that in your first mold you made with the putty. It cures and comes out and doesn't stick to other resins. That way, when you make the resin piece inside the milk bottle, you would pour the resin around the jelly object and after the resin is cured you remove the jelly bit. Then you are left with a clear space instead of a clear resin within another resin. Actually, didn't you make a dog or a teddy recently with that stuff? I think you did, then you flocked it. I have no idea what the stuff is called, but I'm positive it would work!
