That's not even half as 90's as some smaller hatchbacks from that era. I'm talking all blue fabric with pink and yellow swirls and what not. It's a real eye-sore.

Enjoying the fact that you are working on a variety of cars. Nice to see a real world scenario. Might sound a bit odd but I use Cif on firm plastic trim. It works well when agitated with a brush and when dried and wiped over, it leaves a satin matt finish. Thanks for the time and effort put into the videos.

my brethren from across the pond, thank you so much for thoroughly detailing (not planned) the process and the specifics of the cleaning agents and tools you used for each step; I TOO HAVE A MOLDY MITSU!! My Evo X (project car) was sitting in the garage for a while and we're about to get it road-ready again but not before I get rid of some of the mold in the upholstery. I was gonna take a heat gun to the upholstery (still might to be extra cautious to kill what may lurk beneath the surface--word is 140-degrees Fahrenheit does the job and the melting point of materials like cotton, polyester, and nylons are well into the 400-ranges, so it can't hurt to bake it around 160-degrees F) but the added measure of the enzyme-based biological cleaner gives me lotsa confidence the mold won't return. very good upload--super useful info.!!

These hand cleaning methods certainly work very well. Having two children, the rear seats of both cars take a battering. While cleaning my Wife's car yesterday, I was tempted to wheel out the faithful VAX to wash the rear seats but opted to use some elbow grease, upholstery cleaner and the vacuum. The results were far better than I would have imagined, and probably better than they would have been with the VAX.

G Crockford I used to have a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan that had tons of green and black molds in it but they were all under the seat so for years I never new they were there so my health was deteriorated. I’m pretty sure the mold grew on old cigarettes that fell under the seat, my 4 children dropping food everywhere, and how one of the rear pop up windows was permanently stuck open.

@@juljasmaharchive can i ask how youre health deteriorated? And how much time did it take til you realized something was wrong with your health? Symptoms? I just discovered a lot of mold under the floor mat of my passenger side, alot of white mold all over the area of the rug. The rug of the car had the carpet ontop of it and ontop of the carpet was my floor mat and id notice one time the floor mad looked wet and i was confused. It wasnt til i decided to give my car my own home car wash and removed the carpet is when i noticed all the mold on the rug of the car and freaked out. I just bought this car months ago and i have no idea how long i have been breathing this in but im a bit alarmed. If you could give me some words of your experience id highly appreciate it!

great video mate, like ive done in the past after 17 years of doing this valet job as long as you pre wet the mould plenty like you did, then you wont breath in the mould spores when you agitate / disturb them as theyre saturated with the g101 so they cant travel in the air, so hence no dust mask needed.

this job you have mad it hard , all you need is the mould remover and prespray and brush the entire seat as mould can build on the front , back and headliner is left unatended. I would highly recommend paying a couple hundred pounds on a detail sealey carpet cleaner as the hand tools and attachments would make your job extremely easier and use a head gun at a height to dry.

CCG, you should buy a tired and grubby looking car from Gumtree (running, with MOT, etc) for no more than £300. Do a video of a thorough cleaning, paint cut/polish and then sell it on to see how much money you can effectively clean into a car.

A better way of getting out the cat pee smell form mould is mix vinegar 2/3 and water 1/3 spary and scrub then douse the whole interior with baking soda brush into the fabric and carpet let sit for a few hours then vac out. finish with a disinfectant spray like lysol and then a fabric spray like fabrise.

You really broke the mould after this video. Ahem. Mould-thoughts: stuff that's good to kill mould (with longer lasting inhibition) includes zinc, copper, and iodine salts (and others). Some car detailing sprays contain zinc, so might be worth keeping in mind...? 'Cos copper and iodine compounds aren't likely to be ideal inside car interiors... Ozone nukes it too, of course. Plus basically any acid/base/antimicrobial. So nice work - the APC's/scrubbing/etc will all have killed a lot of/most/nearly all the mould anyway of course, so this ISN'T criticism at all.
