As part of the Bagger Challenge, an annual competition to "bag" all of the North Shore Mountain peaks, myself and Steve successfully summitted the most remote peak of the challenge.
The newest way to complete the peak is by taking a paid water taxi up the Indian Arm and navigating private land by the Wigwam Inn. Instead, our route involved a 12 km bike ride to the Seymour Lake Dam, and heading up to Vicar Lakes and Mount Bishop where we would sleep. The next day involved some intense hiking / border line mountaineering on steep snow slopes summitting Deacon and Presbyter before dropping down to Fannin Lake at 900m. From there, it was a beautiful climb back up and over to Mount Dickens along the Fannin Range.
The most difficult part of this hike is just how remote and how much additional elevation gain is needed to make it back. It involved a total of 15 hours of hiking and 2 hours of biking over 24 hours. Only the most fit will be able to do this in one day. The current conditions are treacherous and I do not recommend those without snow experience and gear to complete this peak right now.
I currently have 4 peaks left to complete plus 2 new ones. I also technically have to get the peaks in Deeks and Windsor as I did them unofficially in the off season. Look forward to hopefully one more video in the series where I try to do Forks, Goat Ridge Peak and Goat from Lynn Headwaters.
