Mount Elizabeth Trail, KITIMAT BC.

Mount Elizabeth is located in the Kitimat Valley in the Pacific Northwest of British Columbia. The trail up the mountain is 11km, with an elevation gain of 1400 meters. This is a difficult hike, that rewards you with views of the surrounding mountain tops, the community of Kitimat and the Douglas channel. The trail is a grueling climb up through the forest to the alpine, where you begin to be rewarded for your efforts, finally. This is a difficult hike. The views from this point on to the summit are majestic in every way. you need to resist the urge to pull out the camera and continuously take pictures as this is the time to just be in the moment and immerse yourself in the environment. There is feeling that comes over you of epic proportions when your on top of a mountain looking down on the world. Knowing you climbed to this point, you have withstood the challenges the mountain threw at at you and you overcame them. You feel a sense of accomplishment, and humbleness at the the same time when you are looking around a full 360 degrees at the world and realize just how beautiful this area is, and just how small you are.
Get out and enjoy this beautiful province of British Columbia.

Thanks for the video -- it convinced me that this is a very tough hike. One I might have been up for in my younger years, but now 75, I probably couldn't make it. The views look stunning!

Crazy! I climbed it in the summer of '70 I think it was....2 nights to get to the top and return!

Very cool. I’ve been staring at that mountain for 40 years and never had the courage to climb it. Now I have the courage but the knees are not so happy about it. Beautiful hike.

It is new. Put in last year. It’s a cell tower I believe as I was able to face time with the wife from the top.

@@4seasonsadventure Dusty, that tower is there for LNG pipeline crews to have communication in the backroads as cell phones don't work out there.

It’s not dangerous. Only sketchy part would be the climb from the small peak to the main one. That is more of a rock scramble.
