I don't see any beauty. To me, Everest is a cemetery. I don't see any reason to risk your life. When you go to Everest, you have to think about the fact that it might be your eternal place. No offence...

I went on the South side twice, on ‘06 and ‘08, and have watched this twice too. Loved it, wished I had a momento as good as yours, but my IT at the time was limited to a blog only! Well done on the film, and on the achievement. Summits don’t always matter, but this one seems to. Thanks a lot for sharing the memories. Himex really are a classy outfit aren’t they....even the South Col tents looked tidy inside.......respect!

It's so great to see the HIMEX team rolling on strong, Russell and Purbah are legends of the mountain and I think I saw Woody as well (yup I'm a fan of the Everest show that featured HIMEX) I'm sure they continue to provide the best summit experience available. Thanks for the brilliant footage, and congratulations on what I'm sure will be an accomplishment and experience never forgotten. Cheers!

Dan, what a stunning video! I have been waiting for 20 years for someone to make this video. Finally, someone has filmed the panorama slowly and widely enough so you can appreciate it, named the peaks as they went, given context to the surroundings. I finally have an understanding of the area's geography like I never have before. Someone mentioned they would like to have seen more of the climb. Are you kidding? There are hundreds of videos that concentrate only on the climb. Your video gave me a sense of place and being, an understanding of the geography, something no video of Everest I have seen before has ever accomplished. If I were to critique anything it would be the music volume. It didn't match the volume of your voice (it was too loud). I kept having to adjust the volume between the music and the talking. I don't know if you could re-edit the music input? But my, what an excellent video! I especially enjoyed the the shots of Everest, Lhotse and Neptsu taken from Pumori. That is a perspective hardly ever seen. A screenshot of it is now my new wallpaper. Dan, thanks again for sharing a great video. It is the best video I have ever seen of the Everest area. Congratulations on summiting and I wish you the best.

I would love to climb Everest but I have no mountain climbing experience. If I dod I would go with Himex bc Russell Brice is so well respected and I admire his approach when it comes to safety. As a certified cave diver we also lose so many good friends who are extremely talented and experienced but things can still happen to those who have been caving so long and follow all safety procedures. Like Everest it seems similar that you know you can die no matter how good you are. I also can't imagine a traffic jam in an underwater solution tube cave , I mean same thing as here,you could run out of time and die . Base camp looks much better and cleaner in this video than older ones. Glad you made it there and back safely and provides us with this beautiful footage !

Thanks for sharing. Couple of questions 1. Did you get stuck in queue to the summit? 2. What was the floor like to sleep on in tents? Looks like rocks. 3. Do people really leave as much mess behind as was once case at Glastonbury festival? Well done anyway. 🇬🇧
@niksgee35385 жыл бұрын
@@dancsg1 thanks for your reply Dan. Gosh that sounds terrifying to me, to be stuck in a queue on death zone. Have you seen the BBC film Everest 1984? Quite incredible to watch how Everest was back then. I think you are brave. Climbing mountain is one thing. I would have been scared stuck in a queue on death zone.
@Zazzaro7034 жыл бұрын
niks gee I wouldn’t even make it to the death zone, those ladders over the crevices would do me in. If I ever did go though I’d def want to be on Brice’s team as I would put my complete trust in him to gauge whether or not I could make it.
