This house was built in 1783 by Massy Hutchinson. His daughter Alice married Captain Hugh Massy, a descendent of the Massy's of Stoneville, Limerick. It then became the home of the Massy Family until the late 19th Century. It was burnt down in December 1920 during the War of Independence and is now a ruin.
The house commands beautiful views over the town of Macroom, Cork. The grounds of the house used to contain beautiful orchards and groves.
