In a little over a week, Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital plans to close its doors, leaving many in Lower Manhattan in healthcare limbo. FOX 5 NY's Stephanie Bertini has the story.

What a shame, that was one of the best hospitals in NYC. I went there many a time. My son was born at this hospital. Hate to see it closing. Healthcare is getting worse in NYC.

When my sister died in 2001 the staff at this hospital were so caring and attentive.The care they gave her before she passed meant alot to me and my family also.The neighborhood needs this hospital.

Lincoln and Elmhurst are both NYCHHC, which is managed by the City of NY. Beth Israel is privately owned.

They bring all the migrants and closing all the hospitals.. Montefiore was a nightmare I was in the ER 2 days ago with a minimum of 100 patients lined up on stretchers and along the wall in chairs. 3 stretchers in each row stacked side by side, wall to wall--ridiculous!!. The stretchers was blocking the hallways and every 5 minutes stretchers having to be moved to allow other stretchers to pass like it was a war hospital.. No bed for hours.. too many ppl not enough beds or staff!! Open more hospitals!
