I notice that every year around the anniversary of the eruption, some kind of new photos or footage shows up. This didn't fail to impress. A head on frontal view of the landslide and blast from the air.

Very cool, a lot of videos don’t tell me what happened in the months that followed. It was really informative. I’m glad its straight from the 80’s!

Anyone have an idea who took the photos that begin at 1:07? Or if the photos are available elsewhere? I was shocked to see these images the first time I watched this. Everyone I've talked to says they've never seen them before either. For whatever reason, it seems these photos never made it into public circulation, even though they offer an incredibly rare perspective of the initial eruption. Also, thank you for posting this!
