Nice job, climbed many routes in that area back in the day. It is such a great alpine playground with easy access.

I couldn’t find this route on Mountain Project. Is there an app or guide book where I can find this scramble/climb?
@thorschosen3 ай бұрын
It’s there, www.mountainproject.com/route/106502853/west-ridge Also on Summit Post and the Mountaineers page. The old Becky Cascade Alpine Guide has it listed. But the best resources are probably several of the trip reports that come up when you search for the route in Google.

Thank you 🙏🏼 The link worked and took me to MP on the web. But when I use the MP app it doesn’t show up.

@@alakso777 Honestly his video is some of the best beta you're going to find. If you screenshot some of the landmarks he points out it will be helpful. The route is such choose your own adventure type climb at certain points. One thing I've never seen in any beta is if you don't feel comfortable soloing exposed low 5th or pitching it out at Long John's Tower, you can bypass both options by scrambling up and climbers left of while you're standing at the base of LJT. Great video!

North Ridge is a better route. The Great Gendarme!!

@@MaxnPow I still have to go back and finish the North Ridge. Bailed after the first half due to extreme heat and running out of water/time several years ago. I’ll get back up there eventually

@@thorschosen right on bro! If you do it, make sure to climb the Great Gendarme variation. It’s 5.9 and a little spicy, but so worth it.
