Lots of other videos say to never move back on a jump. Lots of other videos say to lean back as you do. Can you explain why so many people say to never lean back or you will preload the rear too much.

we sure can! First let me say that we always leave any jump and most drops from the rear wheel, or you should be, we are really only trying to preload the rear. Jumping off a ramp is the exact same as a proper J-hop bunny hop, except the lip of the jump is doing the initial wheel lift for which will free us from going wayyy over the rear but you still need the majority of your weight in that rear third. If you weighting the front of the bike at all during the process, your front wheel will dive causing your rear suspending to buck you forward. If your weight is over the bottom bracket your still not going to achieve any body counter weighting to keep the front tire going up at the same angle as the ramp while your rear wheel continues its path off the ramp. Does this help?

@@Theshredacademy Yes, thanks. So when leaning back, is it the leaning back motion that does the pull back on the bars, in other words, you are not physically rowing the bars back with your arms, it’s just the natural effect from leaning back that drives the front wheel up? My problem had always been keeping the front wheel up and not going sideways doing so. I hope I’m making sense.

I can clear a 10-15ft gap, but I mostly rely on speed. I’d like to be able to clear it going slower, with proper technique. Been jumping for years, just haven’t yet really cracked the code on proper way to do it

@@HD-on2eg i can offer you a discount to try our online video review coaching and to watch my how to bunnyhop video before i release it. i have programs that track body movement which makes it easy to visually see what needs to be fixed and what works best. You basically send me a video through google drive and ill send it back in 24hrs with annotations that are audio and graphics. let me know trying to let people know about our offerings. online learning can be good if done correctly cheers
