There is also some good XC trails outside the park, they are not well marked but are on Trailforks and MTB Project. There is some camping just outside of Eagles Nest (6 miles north of Anglefire) along highway 64, I think is was $10.00 a night. I spent a weekend there last summer but wished I would have stayed longer.

Thanks for featuring! Moved to Texas after living within a couple hours of Northstar California. Been missing the mountains (though trails here are good as well). Wasn't sure if the trip to Angel Fire was worth it. Now I see it is.

Check out Spider Mountain in Burnet, TX. It's only like 350ft, but it has a lift and it's the best thing we have so far for downhill inside the state. The upside to it being a small mountain is that you can ride down it like 5+ times per hour.

@@dragonuv65 Thanks. Yes I've been there and have been itching to go back. Definitely an awesome alternative to what I used to do.

100%! But I filmed this during off hours and the trail crew was actually spread out a bit. Ended up running into one of the guys on a backhoe at the start of Pinball so we couldn't actually get on a bunch of the jumps we wanted to show.
