Mountain Biking The Hub Idyllwild: Alternator, Smokestack, Bottomator, Project X, etc

First time mountain biking The Hub trails in Idyllwild. Our plan was to start at the very bottom by parking off of Old Control Road below Hellrazor. In the morning, we would bike up 3000' vertical, then descend and traverse the blue singletrack trails to get over to the base of Project X. Then we would climb another 1000' up Strawberry Ridge Road to get to the top of Project X, a fairly challenging black from what we heard. After descending Project X, we would take more blue singletrack trails back to Hellrazor, and finally go down Hellrazor, the double black. This was our plan and we stuck to it.
The stand out trails included Alternator, Project X and Hellrazor. The other blue trails like Smokestack, Bottomator, Black Bear, and Rattlesnake were fun but flat pedaly meandering trails with a lot of up and down that all sort of blended together.
We both agreed Hellrazor was the most fun we had on a downhill ever. It is extremely chunky, loose, rutted and sustained. We were hooting and hollering down all Hellrazor, which does not let up even for the last 30 vertical feet, where you have to jump off a 20 inch pipe into the final chute. I couldn't stop laughing when we finished Hellrazor, as I couldn't believe we cleaned nearly the entire super gnarly trail, blind. Blaine laid on the ground for a good 10 minutes in disbelief and exhaustion. (Unfortunately I have no footage of this Hellrazor experience because my memory card was full.)
