Mountain Biking Trails in Los Angeles | Jedi & Gape Sale, Santa Monica

Wondering where to ride your mountain bike in Los Angeles?
This is just one of many onboard videos where I’ll be riding some of this city’s best mountain biking trails, this way you can check them out before heading out!
We’ll be riding both Gape Sale and Jedi trails today, these two popular trails are fast flowing downhill trails that criss cross the Sullivan Ridge fire road.
If speed is your thing then this trail will do it for you as you'll easily hit 40+ mph.

Thank's for the upload , looks like a fun trail. I'm moving to LA in a few weeks so i'm going through Trailforks and KZbin for trails to ride. Looks like I found another trail to try. A jump straight out here 4:12 would have been nice. You could probably get some good airtime with the speed you had

@@PROMountainbike I'm new to the US riding culture, could I ask you a few questions? Are all the trails on Trailforks for example free to use and open to the public or is there a trail maintenance fee for some of the trails? The only bike I have is a single speed DH bike so I'm looking forward to carry my bike up those hills 👍

@@InsufficientSleep Hi! Most trails are free to use. Trails on Trail Forks are mostly legal trails but do read up on the info just incase. I would take your DH bike to Snow Summit in Big Bear sometime, it's a great gravity bike park!

Pardon the super late response! Was away for half the year. I’d say it’s definitely possible on a gravel bike but I’d use a dropper post or lower the seat on the way down. A good friend of mine broke his arm and snapped his lovely carbon Cannondale Topstone on on Jedi last year. Just manage your speed and watch the ruts, drops and jumps. Also, keep in mind that the GoPro flattens everything out in the video. Thanks for watching sir! 🙏🤘🏻

I wish I could say I knew of a place around Santa Monica. I’ve only seen e-city bikes for rent. Maybe try giving Helens Cycles a call!
