Not sure if someone mentioned this but the reason the gas gauge is off is prob because the car uses the return line to siphon the gas from the passenger well to the driver side well where the pump is… and when you disconnect the return it won’t siphon so you probably have 1/2 tank on the passenger side still… there’s fuel level sensors on both sides of the tank

Is it an Evo? If so, it could be a number of things, they make so many noises. I think my throwout is done, when I let off the gas and feather the throttle at any speed it sounds like a metal tin of ball bearings.
