what a magical tune! i love the triangle countermelody that enters @0:10, and how the arrangement gradually opens up afterwards, with lots of fun and interesting counterpoint across all the parts. as usual, your selection of sounds is delightful too; the softness of the flute @0:26 is so nice alongside the timbre of the clav/harpsichord-y instruments, and then of course, the vocals!! such a neat addition to the soundscape there the sudden dissipation of the song's built-up energy @0:41 is a really cool moment, and very elegantly handled as well, especially with the volume automation on the triangle. the wistful melody and chords in this section evoke images of the mountain settlement enduring hardships, but eventually persevering with grit and resolve. just super evocative and lovely writing all around :') also that little #4 > 5 piano movement in the G7 chord @0:48 is such a great detail..

Really interesting instrumentation choices that you wouldn’t think would work, but you pull off with tons of style, super cool
