I am working on a fantasy painting that is based off one of my favorite books. I got the background finished but I was struggling with painting the mountains for it and saw this video. I decided to copy it on a smaller canvas and I think it turned out very well. This tutorial is very easy to follow and it gave me a better understanding on how to paint mountains. Thank you so much!

I recreated this and am very happy with the way it turned out! I had to use a sponge to get the texture on the mountain but I still think it turned out nicely. Love the colour palette as well. I also used a white gel pen to do the moon and used it to outline the mountains which I think adds a nice touch. Thank you so much for the great tutorial 💙

I followed along to this and really liked it - my only notes are if you could please list the tools and colours required before you start - got stuck at the mountains cause i didnt have a palette knife thing lol also didnt see you tape the edges at the beginning and I would have done that if I would have known!!

Hi Grace You're paintings are so beautiful 😍 Especially for a beginner like me 😅 I've tried acrylic before but I hated them so much cuz I didn't know how to deal with them !! But you've just gave me hope to try them again ❤ Couple of questions by a very beginner like me .. can I start my paintings without a Gesso ? And why you use a knife 1st then a brush to blend ? And why you blend them on the canvas right away?

Backgrounds are usually easier to make by blending straight on the canvas. I’ve never used a palette knife but I have used a brush for a background, the paints are sort of in bulk so they clump in the brush. So she spread them with the palette knife first

It's better to start with pre-gessoed canvas because it is easy to preserve later on and to help spread colors on canvas. By the way, thanks for answering the question @lunar eclipse.
