If 7th edition would have had pre-measuring it would have been the golden standard without question. As it stands, it's still the best edition, but can get challenged. I think Armies Project is an amazing edition in it's own right. In fact I love seeing WAP more than 8th.

In my opinion, the initiative stat completely defines the meta game and unofficially keeps it Rank and Flank. Without initiative there would be no reason to have a unit bigger than 5-10 models besides rank bonuses. With initiative you need a unit to be able to sustain casualties from both shooting and a round of combat before they’re able to swing back. Why would you ever run 20 black orcs when you could run 2 units of 10? You have two units with nearly identical hitting power, doubling your threats, doubling your mobility, and halving the incentive for your opponent to deal with them. The meta game would shift entirely to MSU

"The Hand Of Gork" should not exists on Warhammer... is too powerfull to move an entire block of orcs behind enemy lines in a game where move is really important. :(

Love the content guys, but aiming for a quicker battle and then waiting 30 minutes before you go over the army lists is a bit bass ackward.
