I was not familiar with the diagonal link on a parallel four bar suspension. Another options for a parallel four bar would be a Watts Link - which allows the rear axle to travel vertically with zero side to side movement like with a Panhard bar. Diagonal link looks like it should be almost zero side to side (like a Watts Link but less complex). Double Triangulated Four Link (mostly used in off-road) eliminates the need for an added link to secure the axle side to side. But, I am not sure what the pros and cons are of double triangulated four link in a street/strip application. I have had thoughts of using trailing arms (60-72 Chevy style truck arms) with a Watts link in an eventual street rod pickup project.

@@petermullin5387 The truck arm suspension is probably the best stock setup ever.

@@mountainsgarage agreed - the radius of the arc the rear axle travels in is so large the fore-aft movement of the axle is minimal. Just replace the coil springs with airbags… Now you can buy aftermarket crossmembers and tubular trailing arms. Original plan for my 66 C20 was a flat bed dually conversion and air ride all the way around - after seeing a 71 or 72 C20 dually conversion pickup (bagged on truck arms) in Carlisle a couple years before. The truck I ended up with was too solid to ditch the bed. Similar theme, the Kodiak was supposed to lose the rescue body and become a hauler for the 5th wheel RV.
