I think you have it round the wrong way. (Although it seems to be working ok anyway!) The narrow end has a pocket for the poles and the wider pocket can be used to slide a sit pad inside which stops it from slipping. I have one and used it this summer when walking round the Isle of Wight. It's a good chair for the weight with the damp ground being the biggest drawback.

I've been using one for over a year and they are the best, once you get used to setting them up. The walking poles should be fairly close to vertical, so that the taut fabric is held parallel to your upper back and neck. Also, I use my inflatable pillow underneath - the Trekology Aluft 2.0 - which has a detachable strap to stop it slipping off your sleeping mat, which is also handy to attach it to the Slingback chair. I've added a couple of cord ties, so that I can peg it all down in windy conditions. For the weight (154g), the Slingback Chair is about half that of a lightweight tripod stool and is way more comfy. It's also only a third of the weight of the Helinox Chair Zero, and about a quarter of the price (and it doesn't break or sink into soft ground). Definitely one of my favourite camping "gadgets".=

Insulating heat pad's the winner for the more temperate climates ⛺️👍. Ha ha - you said "...if you get it quite erect.....😆🤣. 😞I am such a child!

Just ordered one. I needed something super light with the ability to fit under my tarp. Looks like a winner!

You said it would be good for fair weather camping, but if you still had your force 10 tent, and it was raining you could set that chair up in your vestibule area inside your tent.. I reckon that would be a pretty good inside a tent chair option 👍

I still have the force 10 tent so yes that's a bloody good point

Just tie the 2 trekking poles to your poncho can do the same thing, I use this as head and back support for the Helinox style chair, you can try it, it's very comfy!

High back chairs are full luxury lounging. If a sit pad &lumbar pillow can get the pressure off my tailbone then that is a winner... Lower the chair easier to find a footrest IMO.

I’m having one of them 👍

i made one myself which was a bit longer and actually lighter. the problem like you say is when you put your tarp/tent up you can;t use it

May even try to make my own one , mine would be wider and longer , still on the floor mind. My helinox chair one is still a great alternative!

One of my unique characteristics is my shoulders pop out their sockets far too easily and I nearly did that in this video 😂
