Hi Varun. I also live in Berlin. A doctor here since 2014. I would have suggested you to put your sign in German as "Egal wo" instead of Anywhere. In Germany it is very difficult to find people who understand English sometimes. And then again when you write Anywhere is a bit doubtful since the Refugee crisis began. Take me along with you 😅. I speak fluent German on a native level. I wouldn't speak German but would understand what the Germans are saying. It could be a fun experiment so as to know what the German people think and say when you don't speak German. Just an idea! Today's vlog reminds us of an episode in Serbian series. Over there too you waited for long to get a lift but you were successful. The generous truck driver and the elderly man helped you. ( frankly speaking came to know this concept of hitchhiking first from your videos only) Today's vlog is a totally different experience. Firstly no definite destination- ANYWHERE😊 While travelling via Deutsche Bhan, S Bhan and bus -6:58exquisite scenary of nature.( yes nature always heals mind and heart) 9:57 a daring way through the jungles. 11:17 though 8:30pm still the existence of some natural light. The man at the counter of truckstop hotel was very helpful. Hatsoff to your patience and energy and planning(we had already seen that in your USA episodes). You have come across a totally new adventure and experience in this new country. Wait will be always there to see further adventure via your awesome vlogs. Hitchhiking is not so common in Germany. Germans are usually very upfront. But they have not yet reached the point where they are so generous as to take strangers into their cars. Btw hats off to your level of patience, dude.

Hi Varun, it will be near impossible to find a ride in Germany, or even in some parts of Scandinavia. Germans believe in a very planned lifestyle, where there is hardly any room for randomness usually. In addition, in the last 10 years, sociopolitical situations inside and outside Germany have forced the people in Germany to feel a sense of hostility when engaging with non-German looking persons. On the other hand, there must be apps where people share long-distance rides with people going in the same direction; and that could be the closest to hitchhiking that you can choose.

This was majorly because of Easter weekend. Majority of the population spend time with their families and everything stay closed with no activities in public areas. I'm telling you from my experience living in EU. Also "anywhere" was not a great idea. Europeans specially germans, they are very clear and specific with their plans, procedures, steps, etc. Writing specific destination, along with route might have worked. But you're true inspiration to stay positive and optimistic.

German Highways are known as Auto Bahn. Also Deutsche Bahn is actually pronounced as Doishe Bahn or Doish Bahn. My brother in law is now a German Citizen and has been living in Germany since 2010. He would be more than happy to lend you a helping hand whenever needed. We have been travelling in and around Germany since almost 6 years. Hence all these places look so familiar

German Highways are famously known as the German Autobahn, these highways are famous for high speed, average speed is 125 Km/h(130 Km/h recommended by the Fedral Government of Germany) and highest speed is as the wish of the drivers, drivers can drive as much fast as they want in the de-restricted zones of the Autobahns.

To Hitchhike and roam was your choice of travel and it disappointed you this time but you know what was our choice it was ti see you travel no matter how with your gears and camera and smile and this jacket and these pants ,who have been to many such adventures and speaking the truth you dint disappointed like humesha. I don't think it is common to hitchhike here in Germany or most of the EU. In my 5 years of living here, I have never seen a hitchhiker. Probably because trains and public transportation is quite inexpensive and well connected. But a nice experiment though. 'A' for effort.

What separates Varun from other Travel Vloggers is his aura of calmness even in tough situations and making a feel good video of the experience, quite novel approach i must say. Hi Varun, Love your videos. I live in Germany since the past 5 years. I think a reason why no one stopped in those 1st 3.5 hrs was because of the position where you stood. You were standing opposite to the "autobahn begins " sign - the blue & white highway sign. This road is the inlet to the Autobahn and an opportunity for drivers to speed up to join the autobahn at autobahn speeds - so going from 50km/h to ~ 100Km/h. Thus, it is not allowed for drivers to stop once they see the auttobahn sign. If I put myself in the drivers POV, I would have been glad to stop and help but would be nervous to stop on that particular place as it is the inlet street. Just wanted to give an alternative perspective. I would suggest asking for lift a bit further away, maybe on regular city streets that lead to the autobahn. I personally have found Germans to be very helpful people. I hope you have better luck next time. If you ever visit NRW, would be happy to show you around the region :)

experience teach a lot. finding positivity in any situation and being forword .nice journey varun bhai. i will say ,its not common in germany that u will get lift, i had experience last year i went for cycling on mountain of oberhof, i was waiting for 3 hours after 8pm no any vehical no bus, car,. this is geramany. i spend one night under open sky. . stay happy and energetic each day.

Hey Varun, sorry for your bad experience but i think you definitely shouldn't give up, Christmas and Easter are periods where people dont really like to go out too much so honestly im not really surprised. If you want a really good season to hitchhike, imo try doing it during the last week of july~ first week of august 💪
