Thanks for the video. Starting the process of modifying my old kx161-2 to allow for a plate compactor and post driver. I'd also like to leave my thumb hooked up instead of having the hoses loose and the "fun" of hooking them back up.

I agree with the "fun" of hooking them up at times... Even after good bleeding off procedures. I finally broke down and bought one of the Erwin quick grip hydraulic clamps but there are some pros and cons. I'll be making a video on that soon. I definitely need to add a protector plate over the setup but should be an easy project.

your video is perfect timing, I'm going thru the same thing on my KX71. Currently figuring out all my fittings, you're right its frustrating between BSPP, SAE, and JIC fittings. Ordering some pretty sure they won't be all right 😅

I need to print my hydraulic fittings poster and put out in the shop so I can stare at it and scratch my head. Good luck! Would have been a better video if I could have specifically labeled each factory fitting but I just fell into the what the heck process lol.

@@larrydoesschtuff looks like everything Kubota side is BSPP, was that what you found on the thumb plumbing?

@@joelprybylski3515 yes... That's pretty much what I remember. I also have some older Hurst hydraulic tools (jaws of life... Great for opening crushed culverts and alot of other stuff)... All of those fittings were bsp and after flushing tools and swapping oring types I can hook those to the aux. I'll have to get a video going about those things.
