Mounting transducer on a Minn Kota Terrova

I just purchased a Terrova and the spot lock broke my transducer wire that I had running up the shaft of the trolling motor. So I took the head of the unit off and put a couple of twists in the two wires and put the head back on. So far on spot lock the trolling motor does not twist so much around the shaft.

Looks like you split the hose to get the cable inside. What is the inside diameter of the hose and how long of a hose did you use?

It is an air hose, forgot the inside diameter, but it is perfect fit for the transducer wire, I used 9 curls, but should have used 7,I may shorten it, and i did split the hose.

Good Idea Matthew. I have heard of people running the wire through the grove in the shaft, not sure if the newer terrova with lift assist has the groove all the way through it though

No grove with the left assist, wish there was one.

Looks like a good idea to me. I ran mine through the shaft groove, but I don’t have the lift assist thingy. Don’t know if that would affect the groove or not.

Hey Matt would appreciate some help. I have a 4 pin male wire coming off my terrova (with a boat I just bought. I believe this to be the sonar wire. How/where do I connect this to? I assume my fish finder but my finder has no similar female connector for this. Dumb question. Sorry. Just a newbie to minn kota. I cant find any video to help me on this. Thanks in advance

That transducer only works with hummingbird,I run lowrance ,so i had to mount a transducer for lowrance.

Just ran into the same issue. You need a NMEA cable. Part number 000-0124-69. We didn’t get ours to try it yet but guy at lowrance says it will work. Hope it helps. Also said the only compatibility it will give lowrance is the ipilot function. But would be same since terrova doesn’t have transducer

Minn Kota sales adapter cables that fit the terrova wire to different graphs. They have a chart on their site that shows which adapter fits which graph

I dont know the length, but I use about 8 curls of the hose. I need to update this video, I have made some changes since then

Good idea but check out the corn field crappie mounts for the Minn KotaTerrova they work really good on my live scope and I happen to have an extra set I had on my old boat that I’ll let go a lot cheaper than a new set if you’re interested

Very carefully,sharp razor knife and cut away from your hands. go slow.

Cornfield crappie has a product that addresses this issue on Terrova with lift assist. Same general idea as yours, but mounts a little differently. I purchased this product. It works as described, but is a little pricey - $139 I think is what it list for.
