I love how most of the things he calls a "prime example" of compass rose's inconsistency are mostly just whiffs or shots that you'd never expect to ohk in the first place

Not to mention going frame by frame, you can see how his aim, although not by much, is in fact off enough for pellets to not land. I've actually replicated some of his crosshair placements in privates to prove that sometimes he shits on shotguns for little reason. It's so bizarre and I feel like it's primarily just bias towards the shotguns everyone else uses. Compass Rose is absolutely a contender for one of the best shotguns.

It took me almost 300 bonfire bashes(plus countless bounties as well) to finally get a SINGLE slickdraw/opening roll. Thankfully it has good barrels/mag and range mw as I'm know I wouldn't see another one b4 the end of the event. Worst grinding experience I've ever faced in this game. Then you got Bungie out here making jokes about how many bows are dropping with only plans to "pass feedback on" about it meanwhile the current best pvp shotty only has 5 days left to aquire before leaving for another year. I also noticed certain perks rolling MUCH more often than others which shouldn't happen with pure rng and a sample size of around 200(I started writting down every roll after the first 50).

@@zackphy yea I felt that way too. I rarely got slick draw, threat, or opening, but consistently got perks like dual loader, snapshot, incandescent, and vorpal. Idk why they didn’t just allow you to focus which weapon you want instead of RNG and letter a bug run wild. The weapons had actually good perks this year and they missed out on a chance to make BB worth doing this year. I got a rifled slick draw vorpal roll and just kept that

For me, I'd want rifled, assault mag, slickdraw, and opening shot with a range masterwork. Cause with the extra range from rifled without having any handling penalties, you get up to 97 range while getting to have the higher fire rate with assault mag. The difference between 97 and 100 range is going to be negligible, but when everyone is using matador and someday with a slower fire rate, those faster follow ups can matter

I think part of the inconsistencies you're feeling with this gun vs matador is how slim the profile is vs matador. It seems to be easier to have your gun on the target more often with matador. Whereas you naturally have to place your barrel more on target with this gun cause of how slim it already is.

Slickdraw is great like 90% of the time. The problem is that 10% of the time where it feels like the shotgun completely blanks WILL happen and will cost you games in modes like trials/comp. Other shotguns don't do that since the pellet changes, you have a range that they kill at and they're consistent at that range, compass rose with slickdraw is like rolling the dice at times. Wallah has had his opinion changed while farming Garys chat but once he uses it in trials I imagine he'll be back on Matador before the end of the week. You don't have full teams of penguins donating kills in trials most games.

It amazes me how many people don't know that smoothbore is great since they made the shotgun spread pattern permanent and only changing shapes if you change archetypes. Also that aim assist only affects the center pellet (1 pellet).

The pellet spread is locked into a specific shape but that doesnt mean the pellets dont spread outward when the spread is negatively affected. It would just still be in the overall shape of the spread for the archetype ​@ssjronin3972

Slideshot IMO is really great on this gun as well. With a range MW you can have Smallbore + Assault mag for firing faster and hit 100 range with slideshot, or Barrel Shroud + Light Mag or Accurized for more handing and hit 100 range with slideshot. I happened to get both of those combos on one roll and I've just been in love with it. New favorite shotgun.

Enhanced Slickdraw is only showing a 15% decrease in AA cones on foundry right now. A few days ago it said 50%. If it's only 15% now that's a huge buff and opening shot will pretty much negate the penalty. The ready speed is insanely fast on this thing, it has 100 handling plus a .95 ready animation multiplier. Even if you only get two out of three on barrel, masterwork, mag you can still hit 99 range with enhanced opening shot. Mine has 84 range, 99 with os.

The easiest ones I've been able to do are the green ones, since they're cheap, have a straight forward requirement, and in some cases can be cheesed. For example, the stasis effects one you can use the stasis exotic trace rifle and that gets the bounty done at Shuro Chi near instantly, or solar effects with any incandescent weapon, arc with voltshot, etc. then there's ones like generate orbs, and you can run tether with Orpheus Rigs or titan with the chest pieces that makes super generate more orbs, put on any roaming super and you'll get like 8 immediately, etc.

Yea like if it was a hand cannon and you had to hit one headshot, you could do it with basically no aim assist Aim assist helps it seems when firing consecutive shots or on individual shots on a sniper, but for a shorty it doesn’t seem to do much other than easier tracking on console

My honest opinion as I have a 6/5 Compass, you just have to be precise. You get better with it once you realise there’s no reticule friction and your aim must be true. Its pros have far outweighed the cons for me, the amount of kills I could have only have got with this shotgun is silly. I also have a 5/5 voroal fir super rounds, RIP Matadir
