True. It's been 15 years since I've lost someone that close to me and I still remember everything vividly. I remember all the moments we shared like it was yesterday. What makes it even more difficult for the members is that Shinee is a huge part of their lives. People can Bury themselves in work or in what they love to escape personal pain but for them these things are inextricably bound. It has to be so hard to always have the thing you love so much linked to so much loss and pain. Eventually we all learn to live with it but those wounds remain. I wish them a lot of strength❤

Not to mention there’s a difference between mournful and just plain emotional. I mean, this is a very raw and emotional performance, but it’s not mournful and this song isn’t as sad as some people clearly think. They’re looking back on their lives and remembering Jonghyun, but they’re doing it with more happiness than people think. I mean sure, loss hurts, and the pain never really goes away, but it’s not like everything SHINee does from now on is mournful. To me this performance is overflowing with love for Jonghyun and each other, not sadness. I feel like the way people frame everything they do as sad is kinda defining them by Jonghyun’s death too much. I mean sure, that’s a huge and incredibly painful event, and it definitely inspired some of the songs they’ve written since, but they aren’t just gonna constantly be sad for the rest of time. There are performances and interviews where they’re remembering and talking about Jonghyun, but smiling and having a good time. I feel like people forget that.

I am disturbed by the fan comments hating mention of the word "mourning" and mentioning "closure" and "moving on." Jonghyun's tragic death is s profound trauma and loss to these young men. Their professionalism is astounding and their strength in performing a song about mourning him is nothing short of heroic. HONOR THAT. Honor their pain and their courage. Honor Jonghyun and don't make his death and all the feelings around it shameful. It is s plain fact that these young men are probably still in deep shock -- their mourning is just beginning and we should support them. Jonghyun had to hide his true self for fear of being judged -- let us please stop judging our feelings.

Okay so obviously I cried and all but can we just talk about this performance?! To me it's even better here than in the MV, they had such an incredible harmonization and high notes/background vocals that weren't in the official version. And all of them were so expressive here, even Taemin who usually isn't that expressive, damn they really got me bawling. Also here Onew said "You did well" with such a pure smile, tears in his eyes but it was like he was remembering their happy memories and accepting what happened... I feel like a lot of Shawols haven't been watching their live performances in 2018 because it was too hard to watch them without Jonghyun. I know cause I stopped watching them for a while because it was so hard for me to accept it. I feel the emptiness whenever I see them and I feel like I abandoned them...
