22nd March 2019 and still being blessed by this wonderful song. Brought memories of my early days of salvation. The days when worship leading wasn't about stardom and the musician but about corporate worship and focus on Christ. When singing was about "leading the flock" into His presence, not being the superstar of the event. Oh how we need to get back to what true leading of worship means... Thank you Dr. Ron Kenoly for such wonderful worship music and Tommy Walker for penning such an awesome praise song!

That’s exactly my experience too. But it was both my parents... I couldn’t sleep so I wrote a reflection... Since we haven’t been allowed to sing in church gatherings I’ve been thinking about what music communicates. Because whatever it communicates, at the moment, isn’t being communicated. And I think the biggest thing that it communicates that we are missing is joy in the Lord. In the home I grew up in my parents became Christians when I was 2. And they converted drastically too. Both mum and dad grew up in nominal catholic families and really had no interest in religion apart from the bookends (baptism and burial). But after they were invited to hear a Christian speak at an Amway convention (lol) they both responded to the altar call and were ‘Born Again’, as they would say. And as you would expect from people Born Again, they changed their pattern of life pretty drastically. So the early years of my life are filled with moments of seeing Born Again Christian fervour in both my parents as they went about their normal life. They pulled my brothers out of the local Catholic school and put them in the local Christian school (Protestant school). They joined the local Pentecostal church in Melbourne and attended 2 worship services on a Sunday. I remember dad lying in bed with an enormous Study Bible hovering just above his short-sighted eyes and his bedside lamp on as he read it into the night and early in the morning. It was all normal for me, “mum and dad are speaking in tongues in the living room again”. And one of my strongest memories is them watching praise and worship video cassettes. Dad had this one tape called ‘Lift Him Up’ by Ron Kenoly that he watched so many times that the tape got that fuzziness that tapes get when you watch them too many times, and the sound went from crisp VHS quality to bleeding together like a record being played backwards. Eventually it had to be thrown out because the audio and the visual were no longer recognisable (if you’re a 90’s kid, ya feel me!). Recently, I came across this same praise and worship recording on KZbin and so many memories of my parents in the living room growing up rushed back. Singing, hands in the air, experiencing the joy of the Lord. Longing to be in His presence, to sing His praises. My parents communicated to me really well what it looks like to have joy in the Lord. They loved to sing to God and have always been involved in churches that have lots of singing. Why? Well, I think Ron Kenoly articulates my parents experience well in the first song of that tape (and Ps30 says too), “(God) turned my mourning into dancing again, he lifted my sorrow. I can’t stay silent, I must sing for his joy has come.” I’ve been thinking about this, because I’m about to become a parent and I wonder if my patterns of life communicate the same joy in the Lord that my parents communicated to me in their daily habits? Probably not. Are you finding it easy not to sing at the moment? Maybe you need to spend some time thinking about how God has delivered you from mourning to dancing in the salvation of the Lord Jesus

Well this song came to me today as l realise that rehousing my spirit to a place of hope is better than wallowing in grief ,pain and sadness doing this is just evils way , keeping people in bondage and remember acne of past hurt and if it hurt you, put away all sorrows because by rejoicing in the evil is not victory but defeat. Rejoice anyway lt them places evil under your feet ; where you are able to stamp on the head of Satan by singing songs of hope and joy, This lifts you out of the darkness into Elohim marvellous Light. It is his light that removes the darkness his spoken word did that at the beginning of time when Yahuah embarked on the making of this world. So l encourage those who were mourning as l did for my mum, those hurt, broken hearted and lost souls learn to to sing , even when you have nothing to sing for and soon you too will look back and say , HalleluYah Praise the Most High Elohim who can do ALL THINGS through Yahusha who lived us APTTMHY
