This is a lovely video - I enjoyed seeing friends and family in the band, and hearing the old tunes. Originally there is no cat involved in the history of Tom Bawcock. It was added to appeal to children in the popular retelling of the story by the author of The Mousehole Cat. You may enjoy this lovely film from the Ship Inn from the 70s, where the story is told by local men, some of whom were lost in the Solomon Browne.

I was there that year, stayed in a cottage on Duck Street, just up from the harbour! My boys loved it there and enjoyed the stargazey pie :)

Wonderful music! It really hits my soul. I´m Swedish but I remember we had a video VHS, with this fairytale when the children were small. This movie ends with this song, sung by a children´s choir. Does anybody know if that version is posted here on KZbin, or has it been recorded? I can´t find it. Also the version here with the bagpipes. Wonderful. Has it been recorded?

Hi you can get the story of the Mousehole Cat which was made probably in the 1980's on DVD. Its on sale in the shop here in Mousehole. If you look online you may find it. If not maybe we can help you get a copy? Its a wonderful story. The bagpipes were played by a local band, I dont know the name of the tune. I made both the videos but posted under a different name before. Pen
