You're right! Cores and artifact enhancement are a huge part of why SooHyun suddenly rose to the top DPS position. Cores add so much def pen that's it's just insane, and now they can be limit broken. I think with just 2 level 15 cores with def pen, most people can, with some effort in artifacts, get 40+% def pen on SooHyun. And that's just on her own stat sheet, not even including her own 48% def pen passive and all the buffs from Esil/Gina. I think Esil's buff just provide the little push to push her over the exponential breakpoint, making her an absolute monster DPS against any high defense boss. That's why Typal was able to kill the boss in like 50s when the light team took at least 2min or so. My SooHyun is now 32k attack with 36% def pen (very low dmg increase but I'm running curse/obsidian so less diminishing returns I guess), with only 1 level 15 core and the other 2 not even maxed level 10 yet. I don't even feel like I think Kanae to do Deimos Hard. We'll see what she adds to the table I guess.

For real bro this casts doubt on whether or not Kanae is a unit built for WOBL. At least for now with the recent findings and seeing the actual potential and numbers of Soohyun, it seems like there wouldn't be any point to it at all.

Or maybe she will have something that make her more effective against the new upcoming guild boss. But very unlikely they will make her def-pen based like SooHyun. It would be pointless. Btw I got an option to trade 2k attack stat on my SooHyun (From 32k to 30k) but increase her def pen from 36% to 40%. You think that's worth😂😂 I am still looking through my artifact to see if there's anything better

​@@soulawaken24 Depending on how much def pen you still need and which monster you're attacking. I think if attacking tanky monster without black lion, then it's good. For GB, only need about 29k~30k stat. In current WOBL, just use +0 black lion and be done with it. haha!

Basically if it's for GB purpose, since the boss is lower level, I am way overcap on def pen and is better to go for other stats. But if WoBL, there's no point stacking beyond 30k because we won't hit the breakpoint anyway. Ok I am gonna spend a day and look through all my black lion pieces. Hopefully I can prepare a 29-30k def pen blacklion set for her. I think by the time WoBL Hard mode comes out, our cores will be maxed, so we could focus more on raising her attack and dmg increase further. Thanks for the information bro :)

Very interesting. Was considering investing in def pen for light team but with this analysis it's clear that it's a waste of resources. This raises a question however. How is the game going to be balanced in the future. If we already can reach def pen cap with a lineup and it offers such a big exponential increase in damage how will future content be balances to offer alternative team uses. Light was powercrept by the fire team due to the fact that they can so easily exploit the game mechanics. How will the next element surpass this ? You can tell that this is an issue because of the numbers yoo is pulling in GB. A unit specially designed for team battles is doing less dps than her

That's a very very valid question. One possible scenario is that monsters that the fire team really is built for monsters with high def and so new monsters may need to have less def high HP or sub optimal for the fire team with fire resist. Against low def monsters, Soohyun's damage is very low. But Soohyun can convert her damage to Fire Element too.... might have the potential to now become an all around hard hitting DPS against high def, no matter what element. Which is crazy.

Great video! Super in-depth and technical. What do you think about 4pc black lion (left) + 4pc curse (right)? Curse on the right for CP purposes (and if one's obsidian pcs have crap stats lol). You may be onto something with your take on Kanae not being focused on def pen. Cause I also wondered how NM was gonna sell Kanae if Yoo is already doing well as fire dps. Then again, people will probably still pull for Kanae if she's the better dps even if she's also def pen (while some are building up their Yoo units rn, others are also waiting to see Kanae).

Defense decrease is applied first, then remaining def stat will be reduced/ignored by penetration afterwards. Making the interaction between the 2 not very optimal.

When I saw your first video about def down I saw the potential in Yoo. So I got her to A5 from custom banner. People say Esil made Yoo broken, I say it's her def pen kit so I get criticized. They think Esil is better than Akari, I think both as equal for their respective dps hunter, and today you proved that it's her def pen utility what made her so broken. Esil is same for her as GGH is for Thomas. I think Akari is a bit better than Gina. I still think they didn't give Thomas the back seat purposefully. If you remember Black Lion set got buffed when Thomas released and back then, the hunter release schedule was uncertain. It was supposed to be Goto first. I say they decided the Mechanics for this wobl before Thomas release that's why they buffed Black Lion set, but they couldn't give Thomas def pen kit cause we are a bunch of ignorant complainers. After what you've shown today, it also shows how good Thomas is even without def pen in his kit. I cleared normal as f2p with Cha, Thomas and Yoo.

Nice! And yes you are correct. It's not just Esil, Esil was just the last missing piece to finally complete Soohyun's True Power. A lot of what was being updated that people weren't paying attention to has been piling up and slowly increasing Yoo's firepower. (I also tested her when Obsidian set got update). And we already saw Emma + Yoo, and it's still working crazy well in Boss #1.

This I'm not sure yet because there will be a trade off. For now, It's possible to reach enough Penetration in GB with Curse Set. However, that means we have to get Penetration from artifact substats. On the other hand, If using Black lion, can totally ignore def pen sub stats and allocate somewhere else. This I haven't checked yet if worth pursuing.

I'm not sure about the exact stats you added but Pen is generally most important especially for Boss 1. Need to reach that close to 100%. I think for example in my example, I think even if I had 15k attack or less i will be able to clear it still.

You just have to read, there are no new infos, no news datas, no new meta, alll theese things doesnt exist, the meta is just CC learning how to read , nothing news to me to be honest. Already Built my Yoo since her release like that, nothing changed on her, just the release of Esil. Yes you have to balance stats a little bit but if it says DEF PEN > ATTACK > CRIT DAMAGE, do what it says. Netmarble did it good. Focus hard on Def Pen. The game is straightforward, we just have bad "content creators" not even reading spells and telling you how to loose your ressources on useless things. By the way, my first run of WOBLwere better than this one. Not bragging, just honest truth. If you want good content creator, go Typal, he's the only one.

Im neglecting my fire team, a3 yoo, a3 gina, a5 emma, a2 esil, will get esil as high as i can, while trying summoning yoo and gina on black ticket. You think is it late to pull yoo and gina? Yes which is why this kind of OP build is only possible to them. Other teams cannot reach that "Breaking point" at around 80 to 90%+++ where the damage goes crazy. They really just specialize in destroying high def monsters.

def pen and defcrease does not stack additively sadly. Defense decrease gets applied first. So if the defense is decreased, defense penetration wont have anything to penetrate anymore making def pen naturally a suboptimal combination with def decrease.

​@ Yes that is correct. Iron won't do anything with this kind of fire team setup. And yes, either stack def pen or def decrease. In GB though, we still need both since the "def decrease effectiveness becomes lower" as rage increases. But maybe when kanae arrives (and if she has def pen too) then def decrease might not be necessary anymore.

@@guccioludolf4437 Hmm. It kinda depends but for POD, Penetration is least priority because you already apply defense decrease, especially if you use choi. Stats in POD (Level 60 monster is almost same as you see in the stats page). Above level 60 is where it starts to change.

Emma is okay, emma gives 7.77% defense penetration so you just need to compensate it with a bit more defense penetration stat. Then along with an A4 gina. The exact number is 26,000 def penetration stat and you're gonna achieve crazy damage. Choi is not good because defense decrease does not stack additively with def pen.

its kinda devs fault i think. maybe they can a way to balance other teams in high defence battles but idk how. for now we can say only viable team in high defenced battles is fire. bec no other team can reach that much def pen. and fire team can reach absurd amount of def pen :D With passives alone full fire team yoo can reach %68 def pen :DDDD from this point reaching %100 is shouldnt be hard :D

Yeah problem with Fire team though is that they are super weak vs low def monsters haha!
