The elevator flooding was their own fault. There was active flooding in the area and an evacuation underway. They decided to take the elevator instead of the stairs like they should and BAM, they found themselves nearly getting a Darwin Award 🤣

Technically, they should've stayed upstairs where it's safer, but yes, never lock yourself in a tight metal box during an emergency, unless that box is a bunker and the emergency is a nuke.

The elevator guys almost died and they just filmed it. Those kind of events of people dying in a elevator going down a flooded shaft happens sometimes in underground mines when the equipment that is supposed to pump the water out and the flood warning system is poorly maintained.

Tbf filming when you think you are likely to die is extremely practical for many reasons, but tbh I probably wouldn't film myself because I'd be embarrassed to get a darwin award like that, I swear I'd rise from the grave to 096 the witnesses. P.S. Mousey has no idea what that actually smells like. If she had any contact with actual raw sewage she'd have gotten sick and died ages ago, and it's pretty clear that she doesn't have a good idea of the smell. No one realizes just how bad sewage is until they are in it. Luckily for those kids it was very diluted from flood. Not clean water, but way less rancid than true raw sewage. Still more rancid that a week old dead rat. I'm astonished the kids weren't choking just being in the elevator.

@@AngelNearDestruction well I agree with you that filming would be good to find out how this happened as to prevent it from happening again, but I do not think that the data storage on a phone would have recoverable data after being submerged in such dirty water unless it is immediately stored into the cloud. But why I though that was not a good idea is because they didn’t seam to search for an escape hatch and a quick google search proved me that the roof escape hatch are rarely capable to be opened from the inside so in that case If they had already called the authorities to get them out I guess there isn’t much more than filming that you can do.

as others pointed out - the guy with the luggage... airlines use that as a measuring guide. If it fits in that "cage" then it can be carried onto the plane and stored in the overhead compartments. If it doesn't fit, it has to be checked in with other luggage. Poor guy got his case in there but couldn't remove it (it was probably right at the limits but then couldn't get it free).

True. We show very little concern for the weather. It changes too rapidly to really keep tabs on unless you're the type who likes to watch the weather channel. Well, some of us like physically watching the weather because there's f*** all to do around here. Where I'm from "tornado warning" meant "it's gonna be a little windy, so bring your trash barrels inside unless you're donating them to the community drive. Otherwise, proceed as normal, drive safe, and watch for flying debris." I'd take long walks during "severe thunder storms" when they told everyone to stay inside because that's the only time when I could traverse town on foot without risking social interaction. Nothing quite like a cool, rainwater shower... walking around with a squelching squish every step of the way in your now weighted clothes. It was a nice workout too. Honestly refreshing. Highly recommend. 10/10, no lie. The concept of a blizzard only meant there'd be a lot of snow, so obviously we go outside to play in it before it starts melting. Just bundle up. If your hands get cold, burrow out a hole and get out of the wind. Back when I went to school, a sheet of ice over the streets and few feet of snow just meant the farm kids aren't going to be able to catch the bus, so they got a free day, lucky pricks. Also a lot of town kids had to walk to school because their parents didn't feel safe driving on ice. smh. It gets really fun ice skating down the streets in your sneakers. Only problem is getting up them. When I transferred schools, the one I went to didn't have air conditioning for the first year I was there. We'd get out a couple hours early if broke 100 degrees IIRC. That was hell.
