But the game day and pro stopped that completely. I wear steel toes at work for 7 hours (1 hour total of breaks) and the I put the pros in em and there's no pain at all.

@TheSklizo2 жыл бұрын
Great video! You should look at the footprint insoles gamechangers. They were designed to reduce as much shock as possible. Originally meant for skateboarders, but top acrobats in cirque de soleil use them to protect from heavy impacts. I have had heel, knee, and hip pain and I can tell you that they have done wonders in helping me heal. Not necessarily something to give more energy/ more speed/ more jump height, but more for protection of the athlete. The at home custom orthotic also helps me a lot when I’m teaching for tons of hours on the court.

I play a lot of pickleball with Adidas Ubersonic 4 and the Nike GP Turbo shoes. With Ubersonic 4's standard insole, my feet hurt within one match of play. The Move relieved that pain and I'm able to use the Ubersonic 4s for a full session of play without pain. These are my preferred shoe for pickleball because of how light and quick they are. GP Turbo is much more cushioned, so the pain isn't an issue, but with the Move insole, it's more stable and I feel like I'm able to react quicker on my feet with the Move insoles. I'm planning to buy two more pair so I don't have to keep switching them in and out of my shoes.

Thanks for reviewing these! I'm curious the differences in performance between these (the gameday pro) and the cheaper Game Day version. Have you had a chance to try them out yet?

The cheaper version is mainly an insole replacement not a functional orthotic so performance will be just that of a standard factory insole

@@FootDoctorZach Big fan here! I actually own a few pairs of both. The regular Gamedays do have an x torsional arch support bar, similar to the pro version, however it is definitely much less rigid and allows more flex. There is also some less pronounced arch support. Since regular insoles do not include any type of plastic torsional support system, would be safe to assume that the regular version would still offer some additional support and enhanced performance when compared to a regular foam insole?

How do we navigate the sizing if we're a 10.5-11 size? Compared to the sizing of these insoles that are 10-10.5 and 11-11.5, does that mean sizing down is better so that the insoles fit the shoes?

@tomosato77882 жыл бұрын
I got mine today, and tried them out for just walking. It feels pretty similar to the Zelus Olympus Pro. A bit of a deeper cup, and the arch might be slightly higher, but stiffnesses are pretty similar. I've used those for some time and they don't wear out too quickly (unless you make my mistake of chucking them in the washer and then dryer without putting them in a case and doing it at lower temps) I'd love to try them out playing volleyball once the pandemic is a bit more under control.

Question: The January 18, 2011 edition of the NY Times published an article about foot orthotics. The article used comments from a few doctors, particularly a Dr. Nigg from the University of Calgary to raise doubts about their use and effectiveness. As you may recall, this caused a heated discussion on just how beneficial orthotics really are. Biomechanics, as with so many issues dealing with the human body, is an inexact science with several overlapping, competing and sometimes contradictory theories of explanation. I have read a lot of articles on both sides of this issue having very FLAT FEET and I remain permanently confused on the issue. Personal experience has also reenforced that position, having worn insoles for tennis in the past and still suffering from foot, knee, and hip pain at various times. Where do you stand on over the counter orthotics in general in very simple terms?

Effective for some , not for others - there’s too much variability between otc insole companies that you can’t draw broad conclusions

Just wondering, could a poor OTC insole replacement choice cause more harm than good? I purchased a pair of Move Game Days a few months ago, and they worked amazing for my KD shoes. However, when I tried them on my Kobe's they still felt amazing on my feet, however, because of the atlered fit, the heel feels ever so slightly higher (didn't affect lockdown or anything, it was barely noticeable and things felt great). I rolled my ankle twice in two weeks just doing movements I usually make on the court since making the change. I'm starting to suspect that this switch could be the culprit behind this In this case, could the factory insole serve me better even if they're not fancy/supportive (If it ain't broke don't fix it kind of scenario here)?

Appreciate the reviews as always. In regards to the insole reviews you have done, do any provide support for ball of foot pain while playing basketball? Most insoles are giving support to the heel which is nice but not what I need. I feel regardless of shoe, at some point that midsole and support bottoms out and that ball of foot pain comes in and takes me out of activity. One of the best shoes I have experienced lately for support with that was the Puma MB.01, but that pain came around after about 4 uses. . The Jordan 36, KD 14, PG 5, Kyrie 4 low brought pain all in the first day wearing them and it never subsided. So I am really trying to find an insole that will fight against the excruciating pain. Thanks for all the reviews and information and thanks in advance for any info you could provide in regards to the insoles and support against foot pain.

Depends on your foot type , would have to examine to give a specific answer

Hey Dr.Zach, would you recommend these insoles for midsole shielding? I'm a relatively heavy player and I wear the PG 6 which is just react foam with a top shank to help with shielding but since I'm a bigger player I feel like I'll just burn through the foam. I play volleyball so I'm always jumping. Would you recommend???

Any stiffer orthotic will extend midsole life

Are these better than the currex run pro for flat feet? I was told I need a low arch insole.

All of the OTC brands are just personal preference in how you like the way they feel- aside from the really bad ones there isn’t any “best” just what works for your foot and what works for the most people

Hi Zach, I'm a Sports Podiatrist dealing mainly with Basketball, Football and Running. Are you are able to post a link to the research around Orthoses and heart rate? I deal with elite national and Olympic level athletes this may be of interest to. Cheers

That’s awesome- I got the idea from an abstract when I was a resident so no idea , the only peer reviewed study I know of is Zhang in JCM www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0899346707000420 but that was table tennis with custom not otc inserts and not in a podiatry / ortho surg journal and no idea what the quality of the orthotics were so not sure if you would want to base anything significant on it - at best my videos should be level 4 and with a cohort of 1 haha- but I’m always down to collab - interestingly there is a whole body of work on various prosthetics and assistive devices lowering heart rate vs one another - I think it’s just the nature of the orthotic space that it’s hard to get objective data when there’s so many variables within the orthotic making process itself

Hi Dr. Zack! I just found out I have arthritis in my ankle. Would this help me keep playing ball longer?

Doctor Zach, love your content, is there a such thing as an orthotic midsole, such that could replace that in the G.T Cut or Kobe 9/11 ? (Other than custom which can be pretty expensive)
