HILARIOUS FARCE AT THE MASQUE THEATRE
Co-written by 'the master of farce', Ray Cooney, and John Chapman, the laugh-a-minute British bedroom farce 'Move over Mrs Markham'opens at the Masque Theatre, Muizenberg, on Friday 4 May 2012. Wesley Figaji directs for the Constantiaberg Theatre Players.
Philip Markham, a children's book publisher, finds a misplaced love letter and mistakenly assumes that his wife is having an affair with their flamboyant interior designer. Meanwhile, three sets of secret lovers converge on the Markham residence, thinking the flat will be empty for the evening.
This milieu of scandalous flirtation, various states of undress, improbable situations and confusion leads, unsurprisingly, to complete mayhem, as in all good escapist comedies.
'Move Over Mrs Markham' runs from 4 to 12 May,(excluding Monday to Wednesday); weeknights at 20 00, Saturdays at 14 30 and 18 30, and a Sunday performance on 6 May at 15 00. To book your seat call Masque Theatre Bookings on 021 788 1898 or email on bookings@masquetheatre.co.za. Tickets are R55 for Thursday evening and matinees and R65 for other evenings. (Masque Theatre Club members enjoy a R10 dicount).
