Forget matter. All thses comment about leaving Nigeria to Canada. Is primarily motivated by higher exchange rate. Surprisingly you never mentioned that.
@FeyiMac4 жыл бұрын
I didn't mention it because I've never seen or heard of anyone choosing to move to Canada because of exchange rate. Quite absurd if you ask me but it's okay if that's your reason, as long as you're not imposing on others who have essential reasons for their decisions.
@quinnmurph27503 жыл бұрын
Also:, for people of color arriving in Canada: walk tall, be open, meet Canadians, be ambitious. Many POC immigrants think that Canada is not very receptive to them. One, not true, because Canada invited you to live there. Two, a lot of POC go through Canadian society in a way that is quite shy and reserved. Canadians are reserved; so, if you don't put yourself out there, Canadians are not going to come looking for you. But if you're outgoing, ambitious, and a pro-active go-getter, I have, as a black American man, found Canadians to be incredibly enthusiastic and supportive of my entrepreneurial endeavors. But if you think that things will fall into place just by the simple fact of having unpacked your bags in Canada, you're going to be disappointed. You HAVE TO dive into Canadian society and fully participate in it.

This comment is so helpful. But im curious, what is the cost of living? For example, how much do you need to make to live a comfortable life? Also, I hear it is hard to be successful in canada (earning above average). As an entrepreneur what do you think?
@oluwaseyimercy28723 жыл бұрын
Canada here I come God bless Canada
@quinnmurph27503 жыл бұрын
@@OTF-nv1bw In general, I think income and cost of living depend on your field and location. Vancouver and Toronto are wildly expensive; Montreal is more affordable, but you need French to be effective there. Smaller cities will be cheaper but generally offer fewer opportunities. As an entrepreneur, depending on your product/service, you should be able to set your own prices/fees and, thereby, your income. I kept my American clientele, and am less reliant on Canadian spending habits. Personally, I find having an international clientele more economically interesting; I wouldn't have the stomach to run a "local" business in Canada (unless it was in black hair care where, frankly, people need a lot of help....LOL). The commercial affairs office of the Canadian Embassy in your country should be able to help you with these questions. The embassy in Washington was helpful to me and introduced me to several helpful people.

I have watched a lot of "moving to Canada" videos and have never heard your first advantage of living in Canada, "it's a sane environment". The past year or so I've just felt drawn to Canada, so I've spent lots of time watching videos about the Canadian lifestyle, the differences between the US and Canada, Express Entries, how to get permanent residency, the cost of things like food, housing, cellphone ect. compared to the US. Also I have seen a news report a few months back saying that Canada was listed at NUMBER 1 for quality of life, where the US was...I believe 40th😬. That's crazy to think about. I've also had friends go down to visit Canada and they said they absolutely LOVED it and will definitely be going back. That right there tells me Canada is a very nice place compared to the US.

The reduction in H1B is so crazy to me. I'm American. As an engineer I have known plenty of people on H1Bs. Why wouldn't you want highly-educated, highly-qualified people to come to your country? Hi Feyi. Thanks for the video. I am considering relocating to Canada. I want to study and also work there. I am 32, not so well skilled, little experience so I don't know if express entry will work for me or I should just come in through education. I really want to do my post graduate studies there. I am on the look out for masters scholarships though.

would love to move to canada but your winter looks scary whenever l see it on TV. l'm still thinking about it, hubby and I are considering it in the near future, but we need to do more research. we are based in the UK are the moment &we are planning to come for a visit first to canada.

I can understand the scare, UK Winter is like Fall in Canada. Lol. Definitely for your research before deciding to move over 🌹

@@FeyiMac thanks so much for your reply, much appreciated. We are definitely considering but we have so much research to do before we take that step. Hubby and I are both in the health care sectors so job shouldn’t be hard. However we have two children . A child under two and a 17yrs old with severe disability, so I need to find out what kind of help and support is available for people with disability & compare it to Uk.

Aww, bless you. Income for your field are probably much better in the UK than here. You might want to look onto that.
