The cost of living gap between Iceland and the US has shrunk substantially since 2020. I see almost no difference at this point between any major US city and Reykjavik price wise. Vik is my favorite! :)

I’m from California, United States. If I would like to Finland or Iceland. Why Finland or Iceland? 1. They are some of the coldest countries in the world. 2. They both have free healthcare 3. They have extremely low crime rates 4. They are one of the cleanest countries in the world 5. They have gorgeous scenery 6. They have healthier food than the US. 7. They have more freedom than the US.

Well that’s disappointing, no average worker I’ve met here in the US makes $7k a month …guess only the rich are qualified enough. As much as I’d love to move to Iceland I’m not gonna force myself to become a surgeon just to be good enough to move there lol.

Very true! Iceland has one of the highest income requirements in the world for the Digital Nomad Visa. It's a very expensive country and I assume they are ensuring that foreigners can support themselves them without becoming a burden on the state. Luckily there are tons of other countries with more affordable digital nomad visas out there.
