I'm a carpenter and did the math on that 3 bedroom with 3-1/2 bath apartment. 226sq meters converts to just over 2400sqft. At that selling price, you're paying $65 US per square foot. That's cheaper than build COST here in the US in a cheaper rual area. Someone needs to jump on that ASAP.

I was born in Nairobi in the mid 70s. We lived in Eastleigh, then Pangani and then in Parklands. I left Kenya in '93. I agree with you, the maji tasted good and I loved it. That said, I remember when we were vijana a science teacher once told me water is odorless, colorless and TASTELESS. LOL..........If that water we were drinking was tasty, then there was surely something wrong with it!

We cant imagine amount of intestinal parasites we had... I see water filter is very important and to be used for the entire house. It will protect you from many medical conditions... for about 3 years, i and my family have been getting skin lesions and used to go for Dermatologist every time, we spent more money on going on doctor and buying medicines and later on we identified the root cause is water. I got filter and immediately the skin disorders disappeared. The unflitered water also damage hair and cause hair loss, also it affects teeth and cause discoloration. They also damage the toilet fittings and cause stains every time. They also damage pipes that may cause leakage after some years if you built new house. Getting clean water is responsibility of government but our African governments failed to do this. Buying filter with 50K KES protects you and your family from many diseases that may take you to spend 10 times higher than the filter price. ,

If you mean the car parking, in kenya it doesn't matter. How many cars you got
@lifehacks10192 күн бұрын
I suppose by Condo fee you meant service charge as we call it in Kenya. It's usually average of $100 per month depending on apartment location/quality. It caters for security, sanitation, landscaping and general maintenance. If the units are fully sold out, the occupants can form their own management and levy own service charge as desired. Standard car parks are two but you can still utilize any vacant ones since not all occupants may be owning cars.

Urban Design and Architecture is both an Art and Science . There is no one size fits all . Culture can impact design . For instance Indian culture is Multi-generation therefore home design typically fits that . Money talks bullshit walks . If you have it you can design to your liking with an experienced designer .
@jondo38173 күн бұрын

great question. before he answers that though he should buy what is called a TDS meter. without the meter, of course anyone can drink the tap water, but this meter will give a measurable answer. for reference, reverse osmosis filtered water is between 10 to 20 p.p.m. whereas tap water is anywhere from 120 p.p.m. and upwards. also, obviously bottled water is a go-to alternative, but even this should be tested imo. but to answer your question accurately auston would need that TDS meter, or he can maybe try to talk to someone associated with the local utility that supplies the water. i kind of doubt if the average person there would know about testing their own water at home or they might not even sell a TDS meter there at all. auston, what's your answer ?
