Very interesting story/interview! I think it's wonderful how they've started their own business, because for so many of us Americans, we're looking to spend a week or so in Italy just to socialize, eat great food, drink wonderful wines, and eat delicious cheeses, and snack on kiwi! I look forward to relaxing in Italy! I've never really been interested in going to Italy to take a lot of tours. I would like to immerse myself in the culture and in the locals! I would like to return to my ancestors home country Sicily, which is where my ancestors came from. But my children's parents came from Calabria and is still my married my name, even though I'm divorced from my children's dad I kept his name because we had five children together. My maiden name means Fivehands in Italian!

Hi Annette! Thanks for your lovely comment and sharing your story. Karla and Luca offer experiences with a small group, but leave plenty of time to wander on your own. When you don’t speak the language, probably having some guidance is good. It’s hard to like the typical tours where you have to run from one place to the next. We too hope that people will immerse themselves in the culture. It’s so much more enriching. We hope you make it to Sicily. 😍
