Nice guide. This help me see the overall movement we can use. But I'm quite confused at the combination of many boost action (Starting from Fuwa boost). Would be great if there are button inputs shown in the video :)
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
I will keep that in mind for future videos. I just believed that it wasn't necessary since I showed how the boost button was utilized before going into the different techniques and doing those other boost actions just consisted of tapping the same button again to perform a new action or combining 2 different boost actions to achieve a completely new action. But I can see how that is confusing for someone completely new to the game. Really appreciate the feed back!

When I was much younger, I got a copy of Gundam Federation Vs. Zeon around the time of its release. I was in elementary school at the time and had never played another game like it and still love it to this day. Fast forward to earlier this year, I find out that the series has continued on and I'm incredibly excited to pick up a copy when it drops in the US. This tutorial was extremely helpful for me as the original Federation Vs. Zeon didn't have nearly as many movement combos. I will certainly have to brush up on all of this once the game is finally out in the states!

not gonna lie this game looks ridiculously difficult for a newcomer but it also looks incredibly badass
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree, it doesn't just look like it, it is because of the high ceiling cap that this game has for new comers to reach. However don't let that scare you as this game is still pretty fun even if you are not that skilled since the battle system is pretty refined.

I picked it up about a week ago and the game's single player modes provides plenty of good opportunities to learn how to handle your mobile suit, even for fresh beginners. It's really a lot like armored core in that it's suitable for all player skill levels.
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
I agree with what everyone has said thus far, as I think difficulty also comes by how far the player wants to advance in there skill. If a player isn't interested in competition the learning curve isn't as bad as it's pretty easy to pick up the game and just play with a bunch of players at the same skill level or lower. When I mentioned the high ceiling cap implying towards players that were interested to learn everything there is to learn about the game. That part is pretty technical and is not easy to master. If you believe you as a player already has mastered everything the game has to offer than by all means I give you mad respect as I'm still trying to reach that level myself.

Dude your always fun to play against too! Also glad it helped you out for someone who's been with this series for awhile. Have you seen Skyslam's version of movement guide yet? He goes further into explaining how each action functions with other techniques. Similar to how you rapid fire Beam Magnum from unicorn with Boost Dive instead of Zunda. If you haven't, you should take a look at it as it covers more stuff that I just basically skimmed through.

I believe there are even more players then before playing this now. I could be wrong but the community I was part of was pretty small for both "Gundam Vs Gundam Next" and "Extreme Vs. Full Boost" to prove this even further, Evolution Championship Series 2017 for this game was 4 times the size of the biggest one on record for the "Gundam Vs" Series which was the one held in 2014. If anything I would assume from these statistics that the community is growing at an alarming rate if anything. However we shall see how this game will sell, when the western release comes out for us all.

Great to hear, however I won't be diving into strategy as much as Skyslam might be, but I'll cover a bit of it. @Jaimas7 жыл бұрын
I love this game, but the way it handles the movement mechanics drive me crazy. A lot of what's mentioned in this very useful video just isn't discussed in the game much, if at all, and you basically don't stand a chance without know howing to do most of this in the multiplayer mode. It's almost like going into a fighting game and you're suddenly having to fight tournament-level frame counters while you only have a basic grasp of the mechanics. Thank god there's tutorials like this one out there or we'd just be screwed.
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
I think this can be said for any competitive game except for maybe Guilty Gear since I think the in-game tutorial for that game is pretty solid. Most of these movements types in Gundam Versus are now common knowledge but the funny thing is that some of these movement options were not designed intended to be in the game from start. Some of these were originally exploits used by tournament level players that brought attention to the developers that these movement options existed in the game. Fast-forward to this current day, the developers now acknowledge that these movement options are now stapled mechanics for this game's franchise, but they probably found it too complicated to cover hence why it's not explained in the in-game tutorial as they are technically labeled as a more advanced way to move even though I see them as still fundamental basics that players should probably learn about. You are welcome for the tutorial I am happy to hear that it has helped you along your way!

Is there a way you could make a tier list for all suits in the game. Yes I understand that every Unit can be made viable but I'd like to see your personal view and I'm sure those interested in the game would like to see it as well. Also Maybe you could make an advanced x2 guide. When to attack, how to properly use melee and strike classes, how to use shooting classes better, how to effectively play on a team. Just trying to give you things to do that would support the game more. I share these videos with my comrades.
@Tubezaku7 жыл бұрын
Tiers are really muddy outside of: -X1FC, Hot Scramble, Zeong, Gyan, Marsai and GM Custom being among the best in their cost brackets. -300 and 200 costs being really bad in general. Also tiers in general are the last thing newer players need to look at. What you should be looking at when starting out is suits that are "easy to understand", like RX-78, Freedom, Exia, Zeta, and so on, while avoiding more difficult suits such as EZ8, Hyaku Shiki, GP02, etc.
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
There are already a lot of topics I need to cover and it's pretty tough for me to make tutorial videos as I am currently a one-man army producing all these contents without any external help. I will do my best to cover as many "General" topics as I can, as I find "Specific" topics like a "How To Play This Character" is something I can't see myself doing as I barely even play the entire roster let alone only a hand full that I actually feel like I fully understand them personally. Also if you want a Tier list just check this site: exvsrank.ninja-x.jp/gvs_500.html It gets updated like once a month so it's pretty accurate. I to follow that same tier list as I do not play this game competitively and have no actual interest to do so to actually confirm if I agree with most of that list. However, for the characters that I do play, that list is pretty spot on about everything so far from what I've seen.

Sorry if this was already asked, but I tried to pull off the movement shown with Gundam Ez8 with Break Cancelling, and I can pull off the second clip shown with the comparison, but I can't fire the cannon as fast as the first clip shows. Is that from the faster arcade version of this game? Or I may just need more practice, it just feels like I can only go half as fast as that clip shows. Thanks a ton for all the advice in this vid, btw! :)
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
Gundam Versus is console exclusive so there are no other ports. The game only exists for PS4 as well and is non-existent for arcades hence why there isn't a lot of already existing tutorial videos of this game. If you are not firing as fast as I am in the video than yeah probably you need to keep at it until you get it down. I demonstrated this sequence on the live stream over on Twitch as well on the PS4, so this footage was not sped up either encase you are doubting me that I may have sped it up when I was editing it.
@jordan24307 жыл бұрын
I should've asked if it was from one of the previous arcade versions, and I'll be trying, but it seems impossibly fast, the only way I can pull it off is while using burst mode, which seems to speed up everything. Guess the timing is just ridiculously picky.

As said in the video you just input the direction in reverse making your character fly towards the screen then quickly input a half circle motion either towards the left or right to make your character turn that direction ending with forward. @Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
Those are under the category of "special movement options" which can also be referred to as "Command Dash" and all characters in the game have different methods and inputs to activate these abilities. I believe most of the Special movement commands are usually the Special Melee button of different directional inputs. Again just like the video mentions you will need to explore the characters yourself as there are over 100 characters in the game and I can't cover every single character on how to utilize these special movement options.

@shifshappens17017 жыл бұрын
how diffrent is the pad and stick controls
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
I'm actually currently making a video about that topic which hopefully I can release it before the 29th. But anyways to sum up what my video will be covering. PS4 control Pad is more complicated for a player to understand in what they are actually pressing. As in on the Pad you have access to bind buttons like "Sub Weapon" button "Special Melee" Button and a "Special Shot Button" This may sound simpler but in reality it isn't. A fight stick doesn't have these bind buttons in place so a player needs to combine there button inputs to get the buttons that are bound on a Pad. Like Shoot+Melee = Sub | Melee + Boost = Special Melee | and Shoot + Boost = Special Shot. So basically why I say the Pad is more complicated is because players that don't understand how the controls function tend to do something like this. They will be holding Cross button on the PS4 Pad down right? And then they would press there bind button such as special shot or special melee which is the shortcut button for Square + Cross or Triangle + Cross together and find that there character doesn't do there attack and question why it's not happening when they are rapidly pressing the bind shortcut button. Reason why it doesn't read is because Cross is already held down which means you can't press a button that is already held down which this button being held down for this example is the cross button. On the fight stick however it's way more simplistic because you don't have bind buttons to deal with. So if you want to press shoot + Boost while you are holding boost to fly, the player needs to let go of boost and then press the 2 buttons together to achieve there attack. This is what I mean by players playing on a pad are using a way more complicated control scheme then using a fight stick. By all means I am not telling players to use one over the other, as I give mad respect for players that use pad at a tournament level in competitions, since I find that control scheme way more complicated to use then the fight stick and I am always shocked to see players able to use it really efficiently as it's more difficult to use.

The worst part of this game is the Character select screen ! It should have a thumbnail showing the moveset, and it should show the stats (Life, Boost, Overall damage) of each Suit. Making the choice much easier ! Especially when a 20 or 30% boost value will make the difference, just as much as 30% life for a Suit that cost the same.

Tryflozn I have to say exia and unicorn gundam but mainly exia cause it’s fast and quick but unicorn as well because I’m pretty good with various type gundams

Exia is pretty fun! So is Unicorn, they are both really fun characters, but probably pretty difficult to play them at a competitive level though. Good luck on master the two!

this game looks like it was heavily influenced by gotcha force!! 😍

iirc the team that made Gotcha Force joined Capcom to make the Gundam vs series a bit back. Not 100% sure on that but I remember hearing it.
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken they are both developed by the exact same team. If anything, it would be that Gotcha Force was influenced by Gundam Vs series as Gotcha Force was released in 2003 and Gundam Federation Vs Zeon was released in 2001 as both were developed by Capcom. I further believe that Gotcha Force may have been a re-skin of this game for western acceptance much like how Rise Of Incarnates was also a re-skin of this game for the same purpose.

That's cool your showing that u can do this stuff but your not explaining HOW to do them ( witch buttons )
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
Which button for what exactly? Please be more clear as I have shown you all the button and directional inputs in the video to accomplish everything at the beginning of the video unless you skipped it. Everything after the 4-minute mark was said to be a combination of all the things listed at the beginning of the video unless you are watching the video muted. Please be more clear on what you mean by' "showing that u can do this stuff but your not explaining HOW to do them" as you have not clearly indicated anything wrong with the video on what is absent and that statement could mean the entire video did not explain or even show a player on how to do any of the methods listed, Which I have revealed all the control inputs needed to accomplish all these tasks.

Tryflozn I'm starting to get accustomed to using thr fightstick, but I have trouble with boost stepping because it's hard to find a comfortable hand/arm movement and placement for double tapping a direction when using the large joystick, which is thr biggest change coming from a pad's tiny analog sticks. Do you have any tips for that?
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
I don't as I just got accustomed to it by frequently using it. Maybe someone else might have some tips for you if they read this thread.

I love the hell out of this game, but it is unbelievably frustrating. When playing opponents online somehow they can close the gap so fast while evading, while I always find myself stumbling into an attack. Any tips guys. I seem to follow the movement guide here, but find it impossible to win against real payers most of the time.
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
Well for a serious answer, first I would need to know what character you plan to main. As each character has different methods to deal with players that rush at you (So please don't give me an answer of "I play everything" or "I main Random," otherwise I will probably stop answering.) Keep in mind This movement guide is general basics which can apply to all or most characters depending on what technique you are using from this guide. Meaning this guide does not cover and inform a players character specific traits and equipment to deal with certain situations more easily. Just using the movement guide on its own will not be enough to fight toe to toe with more experienced players as they too are using much more than just the general basic foundation of what was mentioned in this guide. This is why I was asking which character do you main? Because you will need to know your specific character in and out in order to fully take advantage of the battlefield, which you need to know your character's special properties and much more. Hence why I stress to many new players the importance of maining a single character 1st to get to know it really well before branching off to other characters of interest. As again each character in this game has different functionality even though they appear visually similar.

I'd be lying if I didn't admit to experimenting a lot, especially with series favorites. I think I'm starting to settle into either F91 of Crossbone X1, when not using suits to unlock strikers that is.
@Tryflozn6 жыл бұрын
Crossbone X1 is a very good character in the game, I'd highly recommend you to start with it if you don't enjoy a rough start. I myself am not too familiar with its arsenal as I barely use it. But from fighting it head on I definitely, understand why the character is so highly regarded in competitive play. However, if you actually enjoy a challenge, and have a lot of patients, as well as not minding your losses for your matches at a frequent rate, you can probably start off with a more difficult character to learn like F91 for example. The characters within this game's roster are not bad, they are all playable, just that some are easier to use than others. This is where the Tier list for this game comes in if you have not seen it yet which you can access it here via this link provide: exvsrank.ninja-x.jp/gvs_400.html Quick run down to allow you to understand the Tier List, the higher the tier does not mean how good the character is, it means how easy the character is to use in the game.The ranking of the tier is determined by the popularity of player choice upon how often X number of players use that specific character and X number of wins from those characters being used. Which this results in people favoring those characters because they are much easier to play as since those characters have equipment and arsenal that is a lot easier to understand quickly as well as allowing the player to take advantage of those abilities at a faster rate. Technically speaking you can view the tier list as them being better than the rest of the cast because their arsenal is far better equipped for combat (Even though I said it does not mean how good they are this part might sound contradicting) but in reality, players can win there matches even with the lower tier characters in the game. Winning with a lower tier character does not necessarily mean the player is better than the other player to pull this off. What it actually means, in reality, is that the player that won with a lower tier character means they spent the effort to learn their character in and out to optimally play the character at maximum performance. So in a nutshell the lower the tier of the character the more difficult, it is for the players to grasp. This in return makes only a few players that actually had the patience to learn them are the few who can use them and make them appear easy to play as, but in reality, they're not. The higher the tier the easier it is to use since those characters are less complicated and take less effort to learn and to control. As you can see Crossbone X1 is Mid A Tier vs F91 who is Mid B Tier, resulting in a lot of players in the community had difficulty using F91 effectively and only the minority was successfully able to use F91 efficiently. In a way, it's not a bad idea to start from the top of the tier for selecting which characters you want to start with and then branch your way downwards depending on the type of player you are. (You can do it in whatever order you please, really, it's up to how patient you are at learning.) Also, keep in mind some top-tier characters are tricky to use as well so there might be times when you might wonder why a specific character is ranked so highly among the tier. This might take some time to figure out its abilities but once you do, the character pretty much becomes super easy to use when you understand the functionality of what made this character so easy to use. Anyways if you are interested to learn one of the two characters you've listed I will try to provide you with further information of said character of interest. As I honestly think it will take twice as much time to explain 2 different characters to you vs just explaining 1 character since I too would need to do research on both those characters as I don't play either of your characters myself. So in order to figure out how to use them effectively, I will need to put in some time to research before I can give you a rundown of the character you decide to go with. So which character do you want to me to explain to you?
@robmar10146 жыл бұрын
You are incredible thank you so much for your help! I think F91, considering X1 is easier for me to understand without help. I can't thank you enough!
@Tryflozn6 жыл бұрын
So from what I've gathered from playing F91, I think, if you can, Spam his charge shot Triangle is better than spamming his charge shot Square as you can create up to 3 floating explosive shields floating within the level if you launch each one fast enough. From my personal experience, players seem to run into them by accident pretty frequently. Also, the Explosive Shield stops beam type projectiles upon making contact with the shield. If you haven't noticed when Beam type projectiles pass an object they usually continue traveling after they pierce through an object. But if they hit your explosive shield this negates them from traveling any further. F91's Charge Shot Square seems really useless and I recommend to not use this attack unless you are completely out of ammo. One shot from this attack does less damage than you normally firing your square and it does less damage than your charge shot Triangle. If you want it to do more damage than your Square and Charge Shot Triangle you need to let at least 2 shots from this attack make contact with the target. This alone makes you stationary allowing you to get hit pretty easily. This is why I highly recommend reserving this attack only for when you are out of ammo. Also to make your self-evasive while shooting this attack, I recommend to only let go of Charge Shot Square at the end of a Boost Step Dive. If done correctly you will see F91 Glide while firing your Charge Shot Square attack towards the direction of your Boost Step Dive input command. This in return will make him more mobile while shooting this attack instead of staying stationary while firing. Than F91 in MEPE Mode allows a player to spam his sub-weapon at a pretty fast rate allowing a player to rapid fire pretty easily in this mode as it appears F91 sub reloads faster in MEPE Mode as well as giving you 2 sub shots when residing in this mode. Basically when you are in this mode just spam as much firepower as possible Now his Sub apparently has 3 variations, the 1st one is no directional Sub which fires pretty quickly but the projectile travels pretty slow across the field. The 2nd one is holding the direction down + Sub at the same time which results in him taking longer to fire his attack but increases the projectile's travel speed making this attack really difficult to dodge since it covers so much distance in such little time. His left/right + Sub seems to be ok but this sub-variation seems to shine the most in MEPE Mode as you can rapid fire it up to 4 shots/ 2 usage while residing in this mode. F91's Special Melee is also pretty good to get into melee range pretty quickly and safely as while he glides with his shield blade out he also automatically blocks most projectiles except for Explosive types in mid-animation while moving forward. Do not rely on this move if you are fighting against melee specialize characters because this attack has mediocre priority against other melee attacks. If you smash this melee against Epyon or Exia, there is a high possibility F91 will lose the engagement with this specific attack. F91's priority attacks seem to be his Left/Right + Triangle as it seems pretty good at smashing into other character's melee but still isn't high enough in priority to win against something like Epyon and Exia. This isn't thoroughly tested but I believe his Forward melee has the ability to win against melee specialized characters, however, this melee has a slow startup but once the animation is playing I'm guessing this attack will beat Epyon and Exia's melee attacks when they try to smash into you with there melee attacks. Keep in mind going against characters that are equipped with a whip attack or any type of horizontal sweep attack will be a challenge for F91, as this types of attacks disrupts boost dive making Boost Step Dive obsolete in this attack range situation. F91 has no way to combat against this other than keeping his distance and fire everything he has. If you want to engage close range combat against horizontal sweeping attack users, you will have to patiently find an opening, because it is very difficult for many characters to engage into these types of characters. Hope this helped, again I don't normally play F91 so I might be missing other pointers here and there, but I think this is a pretty good foundation for a starting point for you to start exploring the rest after understanding what I just said. Keep in mind to also apply the movement guide that was explained in this video and combine this knowledge with F91's ability in combat. I wish you luck in using F91 and if you are curious about how I explored all this about F91, here is a video of the day that I tried to learn it to help you out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHOyY2eXdrycoqc

Not really complaining but i saw an old game called armored core 4a and it looks amazing. Since this is a ps4 game iwish that some details to make it look more stunning By the way is this a gunpla game like gundam breaker?
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
No this is not a Gunpla type game and probably doesn't play like Breaker (Keep in mind I've never played Breaker, I've only seen footages of its gameplay and to me, it looks like another Dynasty Warrior game with customizations like Armored Core attached to it.) This is actually a really competitive PvP like fighting game that has actually displeased many die hard Gundam fans for its game play being too complex to fully understand. As the skill ceiling for this game is pretty high and many players still haven't even got near that ceiling cap yet. (Except for maybe some players located in Asia and Japan as I believe they are far better at this game than we are.) Also, they kept the graphics minimal to allow a consistent 60 FPS on the normal PS4. Since the hit box projectiles are very serious in accuracy for this game making their network code try to sync all 4 players to allow them to see everything at the same time, unlike other games where some objects within the level don't need to actually be kept track of by the net code and can be faked to make players believe that they are seeing it all at the same time, but in reality they are not. If I remember correctly Armored 4A had a few frame rate drops issues during combat when all players attack each other with a ton of missiles and machine guns at the same time and I do not recall if the game was running at 60FPS I believe it was at 30FPS. (And it still had frame rate issues with 30FPS.) So making it similar to armored core 4A quality would be possible at 60 FPS but at the same time, there would be a risk of the frame rate drop issues on a normal PS4 unlike the PS4 Pro which could probably handle it. (However, Gundam Versus's 60FPS is not targeted for PS4 Pro system as it is originally intended for a normal PS4 System) So the current art direction they went with allows the current Gundam Versus game to contain a solid 60 FPS even on a normal PS4. The only time the frames will ever truly drop for Gundam Versus is if someone is having internet connection issues within your current play sessions or they are playing on a very unstable wifi signal. Other then that in perfect network signal with the peers similar to the ones I've experienced playing with in my respective region during North America's free Beta trial, I have never experienced a frame drop before even with tons of projectiles and objects on screen flying by all at once. Keep in mind I am not saying Gundam Versus net code is good by all means as I have heard many complaints of the current net code being unstable. However, the net code still does it's job very well when everyone has maxed out blue signal bars with everyone else including your own connection within the same match, making your experience a very smooth ride at a solid 60FPS with no frame drops issues.

Basically Virtual On?
@Tryflozn7 жыл бұрын
This game gets compared to Virtual On quiet often, I probably wouldn't doubt that it was originally inspired by it back in 2001 when this series 1st started. However the game from my knowledge plays differently even though it appears visually similar. It's pretty much like going to a Blazblue/Guilty Gear video and state "Basically Street Fighter?" but yeah the closes game I would compared this to would probably be Virtual On more then anything as that's probably the most similar game off the top of anyone's head including my own.

In any case if you have a PS4 and don't have anything to do this weekend, why not try the game out for free and tell me how similar this game is to Vitual On after you played it? would love to hear your thoughts about the similarities and differences of the two game, since so many people compare these two games with each other extremely often without playing one of them.
