Why though, sir ? The question I was exploring was why these movements are produced by these muscles as such, since their actions apparently seem to betray their anatomical origin ,insertion. For example, superior oblique can be grossly thought of as a muscle with an anterior insertion, & posterior origin ,& located superiorly & yet, when it pulls, it produces depression instead of elevation. Same can be said about most of the other extraocular muscles .Muscle actions are as painful as anatomical relations :(

Due to pulley it works from infront and medially, producing depression and abduction

Sir could you please make a video explaining the action of individual muscles in adducted and abducted positions of eyeball?? It is quite confusing.
