I watched the whole story. I felt that the maker teams overlooked one very important bit. In the drama, it didn't show the Emperor's looking for the one responsible for the attack that led to the princess 's death. As the way the theme went and the character of the Emperor, he would seek for the one who responsibled for that event, even if it took him the rest of his life to find the one behind it. Lacking that bit, the story lost its value and not so sentimental.

you're wrong, "Scarlet Heart / _Bu Bu Jingxin_ " & "Palace" series were the last _gongduo_ dramas with time travel plotlines *SARFT enforced a time travel plotline restriction* after 2 teenagers drowned trying to time travel emulating either the heroine of "Scarlet Heart" or "Palace" hence *"Rule the World" no longer has the time travel plotline* unlike the original novel
