I honestly don’t understand why Hollywood still makes bad movies. Like everyone knows characters and scenes need time to breathe, but yet we still have directors and producers who are like “naaahhh.”

Hollywood is a hotbed for money laundering. Most of the producers have a lot of illegal money they need to make look legitimate so they can say that much of their money is 'legit' so it can enter circulation in banks. This is every single movie industry btw not just Hollywood. It's why it doesn't matter if it's good or not, the director needs projects, the actors need a job, the screenwriters need something for their CVs and the producers just need the movie to break even so that they go from no legal money to $100 million being legit earnings in a week

I personally don't mind if they don't have feathers
@yuyaricachimuel555 Жыл бұрын
@@Alexanderthegreat159 that last bit sounds confusing, because the dinosaurs from JP are a far cry from real life. You look at something like Prehistoric Planet, obviously a documentary, *those* are a lot more representative of dinosaurs as they were, whereas that’s not the case with JP. The differences, basically, are vast. So no, if the “dinosaurs” of 65 were made more realistically, they would not look anywhere close to JP. And they don’t have to be super accurate either, just interesting and eye catching, and that’s what 65 failed to do. As for feathers, that is only ONE factor when making an accurate dinosaur, one of many, and it’s not even applicable to all dinosaurs, because only some were actually known to have them, few compared to many, so in the end, it’s one piece of a huge puzzle, not the whole thing.

The people being "aliens" also kinds of reminds me the various races in Star Trek, but at least there's a bit more effort put in with theirs I guess. To me it was honestly pretty decent. Like a 7 out of 10. I knew it wasn't going to be an accurate dinosaur movie since the trailer, it was pretty obvious since then and I'm not faulting anyone who didn't notice or didn't think so, I'm just saying it because that was the reason the movie not being accurate about the dinosaurs didn't impact my enjoyment that much. Regarding the monsters that weren't dinosaurs I brushed them off as "well do we really know everything that existed at that time?" That's kind of how I dealth with those things being there so I could enjoy the movie more, but even rationalizing it like that most things are still too agressive and wierdly designed to really sell the planet as Earth, but well I still love monster movies so whatever I said to myself. I'm also sick of survival films where a character is lamenting the loss of family. Like, FFS, there are other character arcs out there. It would be something if someone produced a dinosaur film, where some characters found themselves in Kimmeridgian Germany, and the largest dinosaur they saw was a Europasaurus. Just for something different. Regarding B-movies, I do somewhat consider JP3 the Jurassic Park equivalent of one, but at least that had more characters to work off of. I couldn't care for the Kirbys (well, except Eric, who seemed way safer without his parents), but Alan and Billy's interactions were interesting enough, and the Spinosaurus was the only truly sociopathic creature they encountered.

This film was bottom of the barrel for me. The entire plot of them basically being "Homo Sapians" before we evolved on our own planet is stupid especially since they showed no actual differences. So they expect you to believe that and I couldn't lower my suspension of disbelief. The dinosaurs were also rubbish. Didn't care for the "human" aspect so this was bad to me. Would have made sense if they used time travel and then you could explain away the "dinosaurs" as being from a alternate Earth and them going back in time. From what I read the directors were trying to do their own Terra Nova without doing Terra Nova and they never had the budget to make a entire series from it. A few people have pointed out online that some of it seemed more like a TV show due to some cuts. Also there is a "herbivore dinosaur". The one that's freed from the sticky tar stuff that has a theropod head, body of Spike from Land Before Time and a small "club". That's the "herbivore". If the directors really said they were trying to be accurate well....they clearly didn't come anywhere near too it. Some of the designs reminded me of the original black and white Lost World film where it was caiman and iguana with parts stuck on them.

I haven't watched the film yet and frankly, I'm not going to until it hits KZbin, Netflix or Hulu but - I'm not entirely excited to view it. Most of my gripes from what I've seen thus far is about the Dinosaurs and how they're utilized. It's clear to me that they want the Dinosaurs to be a threat, obviously since that's the entire basis of the film, however when you match sci-fi weaponry with animals as we know them it's not really believable or fear educing because, I mean a normal gun from our common era can probably take down a Rex with a full magazine. The film directors clearly weren't shooting for accuracy with the Dinosaur designs so, why not design the Dinosaurs to be more monstrous with weird and freaky abilities that makes them more of a realistic threat? From what I've seen all the Dinosaurs in the film are either Rex or various sizes of Indoraptor and - that's fine but I don't expect such animals to remotely be considered a threat to a guy with any type of gun. Overall, the concept the film is shooting for would've probably been better if it was a sci-fi horror and focused on unequipped Humans facing shadow lurking Dinosaurs with odd and interesting adaptations.

As a Dinosaur movie: Awful. As a sci-fi-adventure- thriller: ok. But they sold it as a dinosaur movie, and that's why I watched it. - The characters barely had room to breath, so the audience also almost never did. - No interaction with any herbivores, as if they didn't exist, even though it's widely known, that any fauna always produces much more herbivores than carnivores. Just look at Afrika or America. - Not 1 single positive, memorable dinosaur scene. - Some of the dinosaurs looked more like aliens than dinosaurs. - I rly liked the visual style. - I also really liked all the actors. If it had less hunting all the time, gave it more room and implemented good and bad scenes with herbivores, I would have loved it. I think it's weird that everybody always says that Chris Pratt's Owen Grady brings the comedy into the trilogy. He is not. I think everybody always thinks of Parks And Recs or Starlord when they see Chris Pratt. Even in the Evolution games he is acted (not by Chris Pratt) to be this quirky character, who does not know how to unmute his microphone on a call, and always says the wrong things at the wrong time, basically the Cosmo to Claire Dearing's Wanda. However, Owen Grady is not like that in the movies. He is the stereotypical manly man. He is strong, always knows what to do, he is always dead on right with everything he says, he never struggles, he is never afraid and never uncertain of his decisions. He is a bland cardboard cut out manly action hero. The only comedic value, besides his stereotypical depiction, comes from how the reactions to things around him. The only time he was actually funny by himself was when he was tranquilized in Fallen Kingdom. Still, because it's Chris Pratt, people still think of him as a funny quirky Starlord-Like character.

I wonder why they were so keen on making this OUR EARTH 65 million years ago but then make the Dinos as inaccurate as they possibly could, why shoot yourself in the foot that much? Like, I am not one who craves accuracy in Hollywood movies, I leave that to documentaries. However, this approach, just like Dominions approach, is bugging me. In Dominion, Trevorrow said the Dinos will be up-to-date, but they weren't. No one would have come after him if he just didn't say anything, but if he is running around and says that he doesn't wanna lie to children by showing wrong depictions of Dinos, only to then do so, I seriously wonder if he has ever seen his own movie. And it is the same with this movie. When you are saying that this is in fact our Earth 65 million years ago, but then your Dinos are the typical "Hollywood-Cloverfield-Quiet-Place-Stranger-Things-Grey-Skin-Dangly-Arms" monsters, I am going to complain about it. Just have this not being our Earth but an alternate dimension Earth or just a different Planet, Turok style, and all the complaints about inaccuracy are invalid.

That's what I keep telling people. If you're going to make inaccurate dinosaurs, go ahead. But don't try and claim these are a curate dinosaurs.

Yeah, no, it's not a good movie. It's boring, the designs are utter failures, you get no sense of an ecosystem, many many direction error (tensions that aren't paid off, not enough time to breathe and yet way too slow a pace...) the story is non existent, the emotional stakes are too poorly put in place for you to feel them... I didn't find any interest in it. Why would Adam Driver compromise himself on such a project is beyond me. Because, yes, the actors are decent.

I would just like to point out, that, according to the trailer they're humans? Not aliens? So, no idea what it actually means.

I suspect they're trrrying to posit them as... ancestral humans, or something, but they're definitely aliens in the film.

@@nanuqo2006 Literally the dinosaurs in 65 looked like they were designed by a 10 year old that watched Jurassic World one time then ripped off every design aesthetic from the Indominus Rex and the 2005 King Kong dinosaurs. I know this was meant to be a basic bitch dinosaur flick, but jesus..it played like a like a choppy 2006 sci-fi channel movie. I was at least expecting something fun, witty and clever - a fun light hearted monster movie like Kong: Skull Island. Which ironically came out on its 6th anniversary. But man, 65 just felt soooo empty. It was a HUGE wasted opportunity of a non Jurassic Park dinosaur movie.

the way hollywood blockbusters recently keep tryna make the pace so fast and not letting anything sit and breathe is why i just cant enjoy a blockbuster movie anymore. that and also how they keep treating the audience as dumb imbecile who cant put 2 and 2 together, by overtly explaining and re-explaining everything. an example that comes to my mind is in the recent Wakanda Forever movie. at the end credit scene, a child walks out along with T-challa's wife character who i cant remember the name of, as Suri was crying in grief of her brother, and so we all know that kid is the son of T-challa. but then for some reason they just have to drag that scene out and have him explain to our face that he is using a fake name, and his real name is "Prince T-challa", just to make it abundantly clear? how little do Hollywood think of their audience? i just cant stand how condescending movies are becoming nowadays.
