Chalamet grew up in NYC, and went to the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. He played the lead in the school's production of the musical "Sweet Charity" in his senior year. There is an amateur video of him singing at the end of the play. If you google "Chalamet performing sweet charity" you'll find the 6 min video. He had quite the voice and acting skills even back then.

yeah it's being released in december and it literally wrapped a few months ago; searchlight definitely speed running production on this one for award season as their horse lol

For context, I’m firstly a MASSIVE Dylan fan. I’ve always liked Chalamet but am not a huge movie buff in general. The mannerisms, singing voice, and music from Chalamet & company seem SPOT ON to Dylan. However, the speaking voice and dialogue (albeit from only the limited trailers) seem to leave a bit to be desired in my opinion. Overall, I’m really excited for this film. Dylan’s switch to electric is the most pivotal period to examine. I think it has a chance to be the best Dylan film made, which would be a HUGE accomplishment. And I trust in Mangold.

I bet the screenplay begins with dylan arriving in the village, a complete unknown, in '61, and builds to the third act: dylan in '65 going electric at newport. Heres a better title: dylan goes electric.
