There are also many misconceptions that need to be cleared up about Skar King in this scene: 1. Skar King brought out Shimo to flex, not because he was scared. If it isn’t already obvious Skar King has bother an ego problem and loves to show off his skills and power. 2. Scar King was NOT about to die. The novelization stated Kong was “planning” on killing Skar King. Skar King clearly still had the energy to keep fighting and being spammed on the ground once doesn’t mean he was about to die. 3. Skar King is able to put up a good fight against Kong if he has his skeleton whip. In their battle scene he clearly was putting up a better fight than Kong.

To start with, Skar King's roar and glare showed why he was feared and what he did to that caretaker showed how cruel, sadistic, and wrathful he was. Fighting Kong showed a few things. He was more agile than Kong which is what allowed him to deal any kind of hits along with that whip. Kong caught that he had an overreliance on it and knew that disarming him of it would allow him to beat him easily. Skar King was a great fighter but Kong could hit much harder and knew that hand to hand would end with him dead which Kong planned on doing.

I loved that when Skar King pushed the ape that was trying to defend Suko into the lava, killing him, and Suko gets upset, Kong gets angry and is ready to fight. Usually when an extra dies in a scene, especially if killed by the antagonist, nobody cares, but here they do.

I really hate how people overlook just how epic a villain Scar King is due to the fact that he's pretty easily manhandled by the two main Alpha Titans and was very quickly defeated. Like of course he's physically weaker than them due to the fact that he's far slimmer than both, which is why he's more pragmatic. I'll give them the benefit of him seeming like a (British slang term for the female genital) for bringing out Shimo after Kong's 1st strikes against him though cuz even with the book adaptation's reason for why he did that, you don't see anything in his facial expressions that would give the even the slightest implication that it wasn't cuz he got hit

Yeah skar king is a great villian due to his accomplishments, enslaving an entire kong race and controlling an alpha kaiju shows his intelligence and his savagery. He didn't need to be as powerful as ghidorah or mecha because not only is he old af but he had shimo as his enforcer. His personality is what matters, not how strong or weak he is. Skar is an unapologetically evil monster who takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others He is not a tragic villain rather, he does what he does because he can. There's no tragic history to his actions; instead, he enjoys the pain and agony of others, and that's what makes him so amazing. He is an absolute evil, cruel, cunning, cold, and sadistic tyrant. The only issue is that he didn't had enough screen time.

Skar King low to mid diff. Yeah I know Rodan has some fire powers but Evolved Godzilla's atomic breath barely hurt Skar so he can tank fire easily. He's also smarter, way more agile, probably stronger since he was able to take down Kong multiple times (like 2:20) and has weapons on his side.
