I'm always intrigued by how the Camerlengo is ready for self-inmolation, up until the point he actually does it and instantly realizes that no amount of faith is gonna help the next few agonizing moments as his body disintegrates. Also, loved how menacing the Swiss Guard looked, like wolves out for blood. It makes sense, since they're chaeged with the protection of the Pope and the Vatican, so not inly are they very well trained, but they'd be furious beyond words adter learning that this man murdered their greatest charge, and highest honor.

@@PhilipTrouble thats... not how it works. You first need to regret your sins in order to be forgiven. This, a suicide in the place where the Popes rest in peace + asking for Gods's mercy while thinking all what he did was justified, is a direct ticket to hell.
@PhilipTrouble Жыл бұрын
@@christiantarnoski1231Not necessarily, his death was sealed either way. Suicide is a sin because it’s against the will of God to throw away the gift of life. Considering how he was doomed to die either way, this could be interpreted as martyrdom. Of course the Camerlengos intentions were not pure, but he believed them to be, so in his own mind, his self immolation does not lead to hell
@u.s.citizen9933 Жыл бұрын
There's confusion in these comments, so I'll explain the Catholic view. Murder is a sin, including if that murder is yourself, BUT let's remember that us Catholics view God as merciful, and most who choose suicide are dealing with serious mental illnesses which can affect one's conscious on the matter. We cannot say whether a person who committed suicide is in hell or not, but we can say that suicide is a sin, and that sins cause separation from God, the source of all goodness. Separation from that leaves only bad, that is what we call hell. So does a person who committed suicide send them to hell? Circumstantial and we do not know personally where they go because God will judge them Himself whether they were a friend of His or not, but committing sins do not help your case, and suicide and murder in general is sinful. Martyrdom is regarded as holy, but his actions cause his death to not be martyrdom.

Ink Bendy the upside down cross is not actually a devil symbol even though our society has started to see it that way. It represents the martyrdom of St Peter who was crucified upside down where the center obelisk is in the square outside of the basilica. So the cameras go is trying to feel as though his death is more of a Martyrdom for his cause
@Justic3F0rA114 ай бұрын
The upside down cross is a misconception. I’m sure now it can be a reference to wickedness; but it can also be a reference to Saint Peter or Simon Peter. It’s believed before he was crucified he asked his accusers to crucify him upside down because he didn’t believe he was worthy to die the same way Jesus did. I believe you make a very good observation though! I also think him burning beneath the church by the church’s flame represents him burning in hell.

Anyone had any idea where he ended up? Heaven or Hell? His last words were: "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit".

In traditional belief, since he believed in the Lord, he went to Heaven. It doesn’t matter if you do majority good things, or majority bad things. Because we can all say we have done a large number of both in our lives. But when it comes down to the last straw. Belief in the Bible states that if you believe that Christ died for your sins, then you will go to heaven. And If you don’t, then you will go to hell. And his last words only further prove this point, because he’s literally asking god to take his spirit. It’s a strange thing, because the false assumption is if you are good, and do good deeds in your time on earth, then you will go to heaven, but that is not true. I hope that answers your question.

Nope, someone thought it was and their theory was more popular, but it’s actually St.Peters cross. When he was sentenced to death by crucification(I can’t spell) St.Peter thought he was unworthy to die the same way Jesus did so he asked to be crucified upside down

let me put it simpler, if you commit suicide, you go to hell, no matter what your last word is
I'm interested to know what would have happened to him if they had captured him. Would it go to prison, or would they banish him to some religious mission somewhere in the back of beyond.
