Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) humiliates Laney (Rachael Leigh Cook) in front of everyone at the party.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
If Hollywood can shoehorn William Shakespeare into the teen-movie treatment with Romeo and Juliet, and Jane Austen with Clueless (from her novel, Emma), why not George Bernard Shaw? While his Pygmalion has been staged and filmed endless times, most famously as the musical My Fair Lady, here Shaw goes to high school. This time around, a Los Angeles' school's most popular guy Zack (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) loses his girlfriend Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) to television star Brock Hudson (Scream's Matthew Lillard). Zack then vows to his friends that he can take any girl in school and turn her into the prom queen. With five weeks until the prom, his friends pick weird, art nerd Laney Boggs (Rachael Leigh Cook). Zack predictably gets more than he bargained for as he falls in love with his "creation." Eldon Hudson and Kieran Culkin, stars of The Mighty, play Laney's best friend and little brother, respectively. I literally had one or two friends (still friends over 2 decades and the other over 10 years) and the rest I thought I had would walk with me then when they got to the halls they pretended like they didn’t know me and sped off like they were not walking next to me at all I sat at the front of the bus because that was the only empty space an some kid put gum in my hair an my hair was very long then and it took hours to get it I would literally walk the halls an ppl would either trip me or laugh at me if I looked at them as I grew older I realized that all the ppl that made fun of me, outcasted, tripped me or made me feel less then, insecure or sad were all people in groups that made me realize later on how less then, how sad and how outcasted and insecure they were because they were all so lonely within themselves that they had to find groups so they don’t show it as a young girl I didn’t see it but as I grew older I understood that pigeons will always flock together in circles so they can find their home where as Eagles will always soar alone while creating a home some people just couldn’t handle that an I’m ok with that now.
