When she knocks the glass over with her fist, it’s a small moment, but a powerful one. She wants so desperately to be with Rick. She’d already gotten over Victor and was ready for a future with Rick, but now she knows it’s impossible. But she can’t express her rage at the situation aloud, not with him there. She lets it all out with a silent slam of her fist.

Perfect film,perfect actors and actresses. There will never be a more superb coupling than Bergman and Bogart. Look at the way they can act with their facial expressions and the way Max Steiner's musical score gives the scenes almost operatic stature....breathtaking. Surely THE greatest film ever made.

If you know this movie, at this point Ilsa knows that Victor Laslow is alive and she has to leave Rick even though she's in love with him, hence the "kiss me as if it were the last time". This is a remarkable movie in many way and this is one of the best scenes in the movie!

I read that she preferred to be photographed from her left side. Her good side. And as I watch these clips, I notice that she is almost always shown from that angle. Even when she turns her head to the side, showing the right side of her face, she covers it with her hand. I may be wrong, but it seems like her right cheek is chubbier than her left. The left cheek is sleaker and thinner.
