The thing that really sets this movie up is the fantastic artistry of the late John Barry, his music sends chills down my spine whenever I hear it and although I play it myself I can never do it justice, his music is made up of pure silk notes with velvet for the bass notes, utter heaven. Look up his other music including " the girl with the sun in her hair" which he originally wrote for a hair shampoo advert.

Despite the critics, this is a heartwarming movie with my favorite girl Demi. Watched all her movies from good to worse. I love her for her free loving spirit and doing what she wants despite the criticism from others. I have watched this movie several times and am carried away with the music from John Barry. A master piece if I may say so. Bought the soundtrack and play it in the background everyday. Never tired of listening to it

Lawrence Walker I agree. I have never understood the hate for this movie. All I can think is it truly triggers some people, the subject matter. The movie is good. I cry every single time. My ex husband of 20 years could not stand this movie. Hated that I loved it. All the ex could see was jealousy and cheating the same as Woody. But they both agreed to do it and take the money. He reneged on the deal after the deed was done and pushed her away. This movie is the ultimate love story in that way. It was about the forgiveness, understanding and growth.. Only the truest of love, friendships and marriages can survive such a thing.

I obsess on this movie because it happened to me. He wasn't a rich man but he was much older and was smooth as silk. I was 19, my wife was 20 - she had just delivered our second son and he was 29. I was in the military and we had met him at the USO in Austin TX. Married couples should not have single friends. He said the right things and sweep her off her feet. It wasn't until I volunteered for Vietnam as a chopper door gunner that she came back to me. Very immature of me to think that if I was killed than she would be sorry for leaving me.
