From the producers of the most viewed TEDWomen event of 2013 comes "A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story," a documentary following the inspiring journey of 25 year old, 58 pound Lizzie from cyber-bullying victim to anti-bullying activist. Born with a rare syndrome that prevents her from gaining weight, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Velasquez was first bullied as a child in school for looking different and, later online, as a teenager when she discovered a KZbin video labeling her "The World's Ugliest Woman." The film chronicles unheard stories and details of Lizzie’s physical and emotional journey up to her multi-million viewed TEDx talk, and follows her pursuit from a motivational speaker to Capitol Hill as she lobbies for the first federal anti-bullying bill.

I first discovered Lizzie when one of her videos came up in my description feed. To be extremely honest, I am ashamed at my first reaction. In my defense, I was on my iPod and couldn't see it very well... but nothing can cover up. In the back of my brain, the tiny section where unwanted, hurtful or cruel thoughts go, one hurtful, cruel and unwanted thought peeked out from a corner, and it said "Is that a human being?". I looked closer and pushed that thought away, told it to move out. And as soon as I clicked on the video, it did. I am so happy that I came across your channel, and I cannot wait to see the movie. And I sincerely apologize for that thought. I guess people's minds are used to human beings being one thing, and my mind was confused. But only for a second. Love you, Lizzie.

My friends didn't want to watch it. 'Ew. Scary' But I was like: 'LOOK AT HER! LOOK WHAT THE HELL SHE BECAME AFTER ALL THOSE SETBACKS!' And, they still didn't want to. I got mad, I shouted, I screamed. It didn't help. They still got the same opinion. I screamed again, but I realised that some people just don't realise that this is a real story and that she's just an amazing person and she's a motivation for so many people. I wish I could meet her and tell her that she made me till where I am right now, still not where my goals are, but I'm so much closer to being me, accepting myself, than where I used to be. Stay strong, Lizzie.

This is really amazing. I also have Lipodystrophia. I've been bullied with it, in the past and because i felt so uncertain about myself i've got 2 surgery's to make it look better. It's a really good thing what she is doing. Bullying should stop!

Aww, That was awful seeing someone post that video called "The world ugliest women" that was very sad to hear and see those comments.
