Coming back to the interview years later, its interesting that so many see it as awkward because to me it's a normal scene. Notice that they don't have the fake tone of voices and fake smiles that other people in interviews have! These are 2 very real individuals. Ellen is so articulate and thoughtful. Im assuming Leo gets that and appreciates her as a friend. These are the kind of people I like..

In respectfully disagreeing with the younger years statement, I think he should've won very early on in his career. "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" was a stellar performance from him, and should've won him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (not just a nomination, which the Academy seems to love torturing him with). Whenever I watch that movie, I completely forget it's Leonardo DiCaprio. He leaves a deep impression in almost any movie you see him in; I mean, come on Academy! Get on it!

Ellen seems very uncomfortable, but the difference between Ellen and Kate Winslet is glaring. With Ellen, Leo actually gets to talk a bit whereas Kate will often run all over the top of Leo in the convo. Kate is a lot of fun, but Leo usually takes a back seat with her while she runs on endlessly.
