This is like capturing lightning AND thunder in a bottle. Couldn't stop laughing during all the snarky, yet thoughtful exchanges between these two excellent artists. I don't know how anybody could interpret this fun interview as an indicator that they don't get along or are unable to work together. I think these guys are genuine kindred spirits, intellectually jesting with nonchalance that only friends can do. I particularly liked seeing Kilmer express how he wants to portray Mark Twain one day, because now he has, and can be seen as Mark Twain in the upcoming Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn.

It was really fascinating to watch this interview and witness the fun, easy-going chemistry between these guys. Val and RDJ are two incredibly talented actors, who were among the biggest stars in the 90's. I was really looking forward to seeing them work together for the first time, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang did not disappoint ! The film is just too good. I find it extremely satisfying when producers get the casting of a movie just right, and KKBB is one of those rare gems where the casting could not have been more perfect !

Two of the best actors of their generation. Lot's of levity...pretty silly dudes...neither one appears to be taking himself very seriously, yet they are both very serious about their craft. Sad there seems to be so much bashing Kilmer these days...I've acted a bit and the director isn't always right...sometimes there is a reason why an actor will fold up the script and make it into a little paper hat, like say Brando once did during Apocalypse Now. Kevin Spacey is a very respected and remarkable actor and he has high praise for Kilmer. Both of these actors, Downey Jr. and Kilmer, have shown brilliance..

They both seem to have very Mercurial personalities. Val seems to take his time while he muses while RDJ is flighty and is like a butterfly that can only land for a second before taking off again. Val seems more at peace in this interview and RDJ seems slightly at odds with himself. I'm glad he discovered Kung Fu because he has seemed more at ease since. The Sherlock Holmes movies are perfection. Hoping for a third and fourth.

Either that or Tombstone. Val did such an awesome Doc Holiday that his performance stood out among all the other well cast and well acted roles. Probably the best Western ever made for shear impact. What made the movie for me was the friendship between Doc and Wyatt Earp. Doc's loyalty was 100% and Wyatt's was no different. Also, you can never forget Doc's tin cup faux gun play...twirling it around all flashy and then pretending to holster it. One of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

This unscripted thing is a brilliant idea. Makes you wonder how fine is the line in these dialogues between the actors doing their acting schtick & expressing real thoughts & feelings. Seems to me that RDJ, usually seen as a relaxed, fun-loving rogue, is actually a bit intimidated by the actual coolness (even gravitas) of Val Kilmer. His (RDJ) playfulness seems a little excessive, as if covering up some sense of inadequacy..? After all, egos in the Hollywood bubble are very inflated.. & fragile.

Honestly, this was amazing to see, never saw them together in an interview, etc before and they clearly get each other's humor. But the best part of this is knowing that despite the hard couple years that Robert has just been through, this was just when his career was for real getting back on track, and to see him on stage now, as the heart of the MCU, just so amazing. What a life Downey has lived, and so no wonder he has so much depth he can draw on to play his roles. So many celebrities don't have that once they are successful, they ether say successful, or something happens and they lose it all and it becomes sad often to see that, but Downey, such a great guy, seriously seems like a decent and thoughtful guy(yea that is me showing a bro crush) and then to see Downey rebirth not only his career from really help bring all of the MCU into existence at the same time... Iron Man was the first superhero movie that I felt was as good as the imaginary world I created as a kid reading those comic books. And Kilmer, honestly some of my all time favorite movies/roles as well. "I'm your huckleberry is my favorite all-time one-liner in an action movie, and such brilliant memories of Real Genius, Top Gun, Willow etc as a kid. yea this was awesome to see, glad it was posted!
