I know what you want to say, but I'm quite sure nobody thought about that while writing the script. What they probably thought about is that it would be natural to get dirty, and that it would simply be illogical/unrealistic if he stayed completely white while rolling in dirt and whatnot. I don't disregard your comment as bullshit, on the contrary I think it's the imagination that brings out emotions and joy in watching movies. Just that most likely producers did not have that idea on their minds :p

Titan is actually one of the most likely other places in our solar system that could support life. The problem is the lack of water as titan mostly has stuff like ethane and methane. It would be more likely to support human life on one of Jupiter's moons. It has 3 moons that contain water after all. As for it being too cold, we have ways around that. Sure we wouldn't be able to walk around outside without HEAVY insulation and heating systems, but inside artificial habitats that doesn't have to be a problem. As long as there's water (even in ice form) and a way to get nutrients for plant life, we could theoretically build colonies there.

@thehighllama8101
@thehighllama8101 2 жыл бұрын
I read a comment or theory somewhere that the Tet did anticipate the clones regaining their memories, just not as quickly as actually occurred. That's why the Tet is bringing Jack and Vika's tour of duty to an end. It automatically does that with all the Jack and Vika clones after a certain period of time because it knows they will eventually start regaining their memories. Of course, they will not be going to Titan; they will be killed and replaced with a new Jack and Vika for another 3 or 5 year cycle. Also, the reason the Tet would ask "Are you still an effective team?" could be related to it knowing that clones regaining their memory could result in problems.

My heart wants to believe that Jack & Julia wake-up together, almost every morning, fully grounded on the beautifully recovered Earth. And that Victoria & Julia and the two Jacks are all alter-egos of two humans truly in love with each other who finally find their absolute purpose: to save the human race from their own narcissistic egos that destroyed the Earth in the first place. True love always conquers every obstacle. Love is still the answer! 🕊❣️🌟🌙🎶💦🐝

I hold a contrarian view to the generally positive views I see on display here. This was, I'd agree, an absolutely beautiful film. The home in the sky and vehicle designs were stunning. What I dislike about "Oblivion" is the initial situation - A Humanity victorious and spread to off world colonies. A fairly optimistic outcome - though Earth is emptied and hurt. By the conclusion, however, Humanity lies smashed as just another vision of sci-fi survivors in the rubble. A race which has lost near everything. A far grimmer outcome. Furthermore, the same Alien intelligence which understood Humanity well enough to create those stunning sky residences is simultaneously so clueless as to fall for a 'Trojan Horse" deception? Doubtful.

It also spent time and energy building an army to exterminate the humans when it could have gotten all it needed from the moon's of jupiter and ignored the humans. It also doesn't appear to have collected any flora and fauna dna samples except for the 2 initial human ones, which is another reason not to bother with earth. They really should have done more to justify the plot.

Even if you want to go with the dubious plot point of the TET falling for the Trojan horse, I have a hard time believing it also had an Achilles heel a la the Death Star. Something that size presumably would have redundancies, and while it would certainly do some damage, completely obliterating it seems inconsistent with the fact that mankind was unable to accomplish a similar tactic during the initial invasion when they were busy nuking the Earth. Furthermore, my biggest complaint is that the movie was slow-moving and dull. Quite a contrast to similar Cruise Sci-Fi pics like Minority Report or Edge of Tomorrow. Maybe some people found Vika's character repeating, "Copy this, copy that" compelling, but not me. Don't misunderstand me. I am not arguing that a Sci-Fi should be an action flick set in space or the future, but it needs some intellectual meat to sink your teeth into if there isn't a lot of action or drama. Movies like Arrival are a great example. Fans of this one like to make a big deal about the plot twist, but you knew something was up from the very beginning with the dream sequences. So by the time Morgan Freeman's character spills the beans, it sounds cliche. Two hours and the screen writers and director were unable to deliever something a little more complex? Sigh, Instead all we got were hackneyed tropes.

@@billclinton6040 A problem with the movie is the Humans are wearing weird gears and masks to protect themself from the drones. OK Then, even in presence of Drones they forgot to use them every time. It becomes apparent this 'camouflage' is here only to hide the fact they are not aliens ... but once the trick is revealed, the writer throw their own story out the windows.

Julia's fear in the rough flying scenes with Jack was real. The producers didn't tell her about the gyroscope craft they were gonna film in and just moved it along. Tom enjoyed doing that.

I wonder if Jack 52 had his own hidden getaway somewhere? I'm guessing the floating house (49), crashed when the Tet was destroyed (like the drowns), but the other house was supported so the survivors could possibly (if flyer still works?) cannibalize it for the technology? What about the other Jacks and Victoria's (in other "radiation" zones)? ;-)
